  • 1 tablespoon honey

"I tried this recipe today to have with a beautiful pork roast. I doubled the applesauce recipe and can't believe how wonderful this easy recipe turned out. I used granny smith apples (my favorite tart apple) and the taste of these delicious apples came thru to the sauce. I will never buy applesauce again. My thanks to Mary Ann Gove for this wonderful recipe."

"I've made this several times, both for my family and as a school project with young students. It's always a hit and very easy to do."

"I think the texture was off when I made this recipe, but the flavor was good. My best guess is that the apples were stored too long and thus made the applesauce pithy. Make sure you use fresh tart apples (Red Delicious will make it even more pithy). Best served cold."
