French Peas

I'm always on the lookout for side dishes that go with nearly any main meal. This medley of peas, onions and mushrooms fills the bill.—John Davis, Mobile, Alabama

  • 1 teaspoon butter
  • 2 teaspoons water
  • 2 medium fresh mushrooms, thinly sliced
  • 1/2 cup frozen peas
  • 2 thin onion slices
  • Pinch salt, optional


  • Melt butter in a small saucepan; add all remaining ingredients. Cover and cook until the peas are tender, stirring occasionally.
