This tasty snack mix combines crunchy Chex and Cheerios, along with salty pretzels, sweet bunny grahams and chocolate M&M’s. A generous amount of melted white chocolate coats each piece, bringing everything together. This bait is sweet, salty and sure to satisfy the Easter Bunny’s sweet tooth—and yours too.

Ingredients for Easter Bunny Bait

  • Chex cereal: Chex cereal adds crunch to this flavorful mix. Use either rice or corn Chex to make this sweet snack mix.
  • Cheerios: Choose from plain, honey nut or confetti Cheerios.
  • Pretzels: The saltiness of pretzels is a tasty counterbalance to the sweet ingredients in this snack mix. You can use pretzel twists, sticks or basket-shaped snaps to make this Easter Bunny bait.
  • Annie’s bunny grahams: Little bunny grahams are the cutest part of this springy snack recipe. Choose from honey, chocolate or even pastel-speckled, birthday cake-flavored bunny grahams.
  • Pastel M&M’s: You can use plain or peanut pastel M&M’s, or use another spring-colored candy-coated chocolate.
  • Spring sprinkles: For more spring flair, add a sprinkle of pastel jimmies or spring-shaped sprinkles (think pastel flowers, bunnies or chicks) to the mixture.
  • White chocolate chips: You will need 16 ounces of white chocolate chips for this recipe. You could also use white or vanilla melting wafers.

In a very large mixing bowl, combine the cereals, pretzels, 1 cup bunny grahams and the M&M’s.

Step 2: Melt the white chocolate

Place the white chocolate chips in a microwave-safe bowl and microwave until melted. Start with 30 seconds at 50% power, then stir. Continue cooking in 15- to 30-second intervals, stirring in between, until the chocolate is completely melted.

Step 3: Stir to combine

Spread the mixture into an even layer on a parchment-lined baking sheet. Press in the remaining 1/2 cup bunny grahams. Top with sprinkles. Let it sit until the white chocolate hardens, 15 to 20 minutes. Then, break the Easter Bunny bait into smaller pieces before serving.

Editor’s Tip: Once the white chocolate has been stirred in, work quickly to spread the mixture on the baking sheet. It begins to harden pretty quickly.

What’s the best way to melt white chocolate?

There are several ways to melt chocolate, but the quickest and easiest way is to use your microwave. Place the white chocolate chips in a microwave-safe bowl and microwave for 30 seconds at 50% power. Remove from the microwave and stir thoroughly. Then, continue microwaving in 30-second increments, stirring frequently, until the chocolate has thoroughly melted. Be careful, because white chocolate burns easily.

What else can you serve with Easter Bunny bait?

This sweet treat is perfect for serving with other Easter treats. It would be perfect to serve as a snacky sweet item after a wonderful Easter brunch or Easter dinner. You could make other bunny-shaped recipes to mimic the bunny grahams in the mixture. Don’t forget the chocolate bunny cocktails!
