Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons turkey drippings
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon pepper
  • 2 cups chicken broth
  • 1/4 cup whole milk

Directions

In a small saucepan, mix cornstarch, drippings, salt and pepper until smooth. Gradually whisk in broth and milk. Bring to a boil, stirring constantly; cook and stir 2 minutes or until thickened. Yield: 2-1/3 cups.

"YES! A turkey gravy recipe made with MILK! YES! I don't know how many turkey gravies I've had that were made with water. I always use milk as that's what you use for wonderful chicken gravy. :)

This is pretty much how I make turkey gravy, except I prefer flour over cornstarch, and I also like to let my gravy sit and simmer for about ten minutes, stirring often. Just add a bit more stock if it starts getting too thick."

"It was good! I substituted potato starch, added 2 teaspoons too potent poultry seasoning which made green gravy - so diluted with more chicken broth in separate pot. Used Himalayan salt & raw milk. Then added chunked turkey & heated. Oops - forgot the cranberry sauce again!"
