Cranberry Party Mix


  • 2 cups Cinnamon Chex
  • 2 cups Corn Chex
  • 2 cups Wheat Chex
  • 2 cups hazelnuts
  • 1/3 cup maple syrup
  • 1/4 cup butter, cubed
  • 1/4 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1-1/2 teaspoons salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 2 cups dried cranberries


  • 1. In a large microwave-safe bowl, combine the cereals and hazelnuts; set aside. In a small microwave-safe bowl, combine the syrup, butter, brown sugar, salt and nutmeg. Microwave, uncovered, on high for 1 minute; stir until blended. Pour over cereal mixture and toss to coat.
  • 2. Microwave on high for 5-6 minutes or until lightly browned, stirring after each minute. Stir in cranberries. Spread onto waxed paper to cool. Store in an airtight container.

3/4 cup: 348 calories, 20g fat (4g saturated fat), 9mg cholesterol, 427mg sodium, 43g carbohydrate (25g sugars, 5g fiber), 5g protein.

    This is now my favorite cereal snack mix. It is quick to make and delicious! I used cashews as I had some in the pantry - very yummy.

    Replace the 2 cups Wheat Chex with 2 cups Rice Chex to make this a simple gluten free snack!

    Made this for game night with our adult family members and it was gone before I knew it. Next time I will cut the nutmeg in 1/2.

    I don't use a microwave. How long do you cook the syrup mixture and how long and at what temperature do you cook the mix? I want to try it, thanks!
