Holiday breakfasts would not be the same at our house without this delicious coffee cake. Whenever I take it anywhere, everyone raves about it and wants the recipe. —Susan Walschlager, Anderson, Indiana
To use up leftover eggnog, cranberries and pecans from the holiday season, I added them to a classic coffee cake recipe. It goes together the night before and bakes in the morning.—Lisa Varner, El Paso, Texas
This has become my "trademark" dessert. I'm asked to take it everywhere I go! Diagonal cuts in the dough give this coffee cake a pretty look without the extra work of braiding it.
-Carolyn Gregory, Hendersonville, Tennessee
Dotted with dried apricots and maraschino cherries, this tender coffee cake has a festive flavor and look. I love to serve it at Christmastime for my family, fellow teachers and students. It makes a welcome holiday gift, too.
-Linda Hollingsworth, Quitman, Mississippi
I rely on a cake mix to speed the prep for this moist streusel-topped dessert that pairs tart rhubarb with sweet strawberries. It's great all by itself, but feel free to add some frosting or ice cream. —Jackie Heyer, Cushing, Iowa
My mom was well-known for her delicious Kringle. She made it from memory and when she passed away, we didn’t have the recipe to carry-on this tradition. We searched through her recipes and we found what we believe was her original starting recipe. So that’s where we began. The dough remains the same, but I have adjusted the filling ingredients until it finally came out just right. Try this tender, flaky pastry with its almonds and coconut filling, and you’ll be hooked on it like us!—Debora
