Cornbread Squares

This inexpensive cornbread will disappear as fast as you can make it. It is always fluffy and moist. —Marcia Salisbury, Waukesha, Wisconsin
Ingredients

1 cup all-purpose flour

1 cup yellow cornmeal

1/4 cup sugar

2 teaspoons baking powder

3/4 teaspoon salt

1 cup 2% milk

2 large eggs, lightly beaten, room temperature

1/4 cup canola oil
Directions

Preheat oven to 400°. In a large bowl, combine flour, cornmeal, sugar, baking powder and salt. Stir in milk, eggs and oil just until moistened.

Spoon into a greased 8-in. square baking pan. Bake until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean, 20-25 minutes.
