Cook and stir constantly until mixture reaches 248° (firm-ball stage) on a candy thermometer, about 30-40 minutes. Remove from the heat; stir in vanilla. Pour into buttered 9x13 pan to cool thoroughly. Cut into small squares and wrap in saran wrap or press n seal wrap
