For frosting, dissolve coffee granules in cream; set aside. In a large bowl, beat butter until smooth. Beat in vanilla and salt. Gradually beat in confectioners' sugar until smooth. Beat in enough of the coffee mixture to achieve spreading consistency. Frost cake.
