Chocolate Fruit Dip

I've been told I'm not allowed to come to neighborhood parties unless I bring this dip! It's always a big hit. I usually serve it with strawberries and pineapple, but it's good with other fruit, such as apples and melon. —Sarah Maury Swan, Granite, Maryland

I made this dip for my sister's birthday party. I served it with strawberries and raspberries. I was not overly impressed by it. It wasn't chocolatey enough for me. I didn't like the consistency either. It was more of a spread than a dip.

Not only would I make this again... but I've made it over and over. I'm just getting ready to make three separate batches of it for a friend's conducting recital reception for tomorrow. This is absolutely delicious, and I've not yet had anyone not like it. Rich and delicious, yet light, like a mousse. I like it best with strawberries.

I made this with real whipped cream instead of whipped topping and light cream cheese and it is fantastic!
