Reviews for Chocolate Chip Cookie Delight
"I just made this dessert and I must say .... it was delicious! That cheesecake layer really added that special touch and made this dessert tasty and decadent! I made some changes .... I used peanut butter cookie dough for the crust, I added about 1/2 cup whipped topping to the chocolate layer and instead of sprinkling chocolate chips on top, I swirled in some chocolate sauce ..... maybe next time I make it I may sprinkle top with chopped peanuts! Five star rating for sure!"
"Heaven in a pan!!!! Made as directed and loved it! Mine doesn't look as good as this, but once you take a bite, I don't think you care what it looks like. Oh, I did use Heath toffee bits on top since that is what I had. SOOOOOO GOOOOD!"
"My sister gave me this recipe years ago. We changed the name to 'Sinfully Delicious'. It's a hit with my daughters and I!"
"I used my own homemade cookie dough, baked it for about 10 minutes and it turned out great. Thankfully I had no problems slicing it. I did, however, have some difficulty spreading the dough evenly onto the pan. I found that placing wax paper over the dough made it a bit easier for me to press it into place. The dessert itself was pretty tasty. I made it for my husbands birthday. I was a bit disappointed however with how messy it was to serve. It was a bit mushy so there was pudding and cool whip all over the place. It didn?t turn out pretty like in the picture above at all. I think this would look prettier served in individual cups. Anyhow, it was simple to make and I think I may attempt it again with other flavors. I?m glad I gave it a try."
"I have made this for 40 plus years. aka "Better Than S$! Desert". It is awesome and make it all the time!!"
"Excellent! Used chopped up "Goobers" candy for the topping."
"I followed this recipe exactly. Although I had some concerns about the amount of pudding, when served the pudding was very manageable. I did leave the dessert in the fridge until the last minute. I brought the the dessert to a camper's pot luck - it was a total success and got rave reviews from other campers. This is definitely a good dessert for adults and children."
"Big big hit! Tastes great when using real cream OR good ol' "chemical-laden -whipped -topping -in- a- tub"! Love 'em both in this dish. Didn't have a problem with the pudding layer."
"I substituted freshly made whipped cream for the chemical laden whipped topping in a tub. Absolutely delicious!"
"Loved this dish. Made it a few weeks ago. Will be making it again for next weekend. Again loved it."
"I made this for my company Christmas potluck and won the prize for best dessert! It was for all of our factory workers as well so I tripled the recipe and cooked it into a big pan. The only thing is that the pudding was a little runny. If I make it again I would like to figure out how to make the chocolate pudding layer more firm and maybe mousse like. Either way folks loved it."
"Love this recipe. One of the tricks to this recipe is NOT to over bake the bottom crust. That way it is easier to cut through"
"I used whole milk and still the pudding did not set up. Too mushy will not make this again."
"This is excellent and very easy to make, too!! I brought this in for a coworker's birthday, and everyone left asking for the recipe. I picked up an 8oz tub of whipped cream by mistake, but it worked out fine. There was enough left over to spread on top of the pudding, but the layer was very thin."
"I made this as a cool treat for when my fiance moved up. It was good, but it wasn't amazing or wow me. The whipped topping on top came out more like globs, not as nice and even as shown in the picture. I don't know that I would make this again, but I don't regret making it!"
"I take a meal to a homeless shelter once a month and I made this delicious dessert in April. I had many compliments on it. It's definitely a keeper!"
"Super yummy! A definite do over!"
"my mom makes this every year for our family reunion it is gone in about 10 min and she makes 2 9x13 pans for about 75-80 people I love this recipe I call it heaven in a pan well it is"
"I took this dessert to a party and it was a huge hit. Everyone enjoyed it. I used gluten free dough so I could eat it too."
"The directions are fine. There are 4 layers: cookie layer cream cheese & sugar layer pudding layer top layer of whipped cream :)"
"Poor directions. Count the layers. puddings are mixed separately. my suggestion, bake the cookies, then crumble for crust."
"Delicious! got ate right up!"
"I under baked the cookie, and it was still hard to cut and get out of the pan. When I did cut it and tried to take it out, it left a thin layer of the crust that I couldn't get out. This always happens when I use refrigerated cookie dough as a crust. I will not do that again. This recipe is similar to a chocolate Striped Delight dessert I make for Jello brand, I think. I will stick with that recipe in the future. It uses graham cracker crumbs, as some of the other reviews here suggested. Should have listened!"
"This is a wonderful dessert. I use sugar free instant pudding and lite cool whip to decrease the calories. You can't tell the difference. It is so good!"
"I have a question, are you suppose to mix the chocolate and vanilla pudding together or make them each separate? Thanks"
"Very easy and tasted wonderful. I took this to a luau and everyone asked for the recipe."
"We love this dessert! It is the absolute best for kids and adults alike."
"Great recipe! Wonder if I can freeze for later?"
"This is the best."
"The family love this dessert, it was gone in one day!"
"Awesome. Not a crumb left. easy to make."
"I took this recipe to a family Christmas gathering and everybody loved it!!! It is a keeper, for sure!"
"Very good and easy to make. Only downfall is that it is not very good after 2 days. I made ahead and it was fine but by the day after the crust was very soggy."
"I make it with a graham cracker crust. My Grandkids ask for it all the time."
"The pudding did not set up. I don't know what went wrong. I was disappointed since I needed it for a pot luck."
"I love this! This is one that has been around for a long time. I have always made it with the traditional walnut/flour/butter crust but this was much easier and pretty tasty!!"
"I use crushed oreos on the bottom instead"
"This recipe was a huge hit! Everyone had seconds...and thirds! It was even better after sitting for another day. My husband really wants me to try this one with butterscotch instead of chocolate pudding next time. Maybe I'll throw in some butterscotch chips as well."
"made this last night for first time, so simple to make and oh so good. Everyone loves it, it' a keeper."
"So easy and OHHH so Goooood"
"This is a nice recipe! Simple and good!"
"Tried for fun and son asks for it again and again."
"I'm going to make it w/2 pkgs of choc.."
"Made this with sugar cookie dough, banana/French vanilla pudding and nilla wafers on top-total hit!"
"I haven't tried this but I know it will be fabulous. Like many others here, we have made this in my family for years but called it chocolate Delight. The crust was made from flour, butter and chopped nuts."
"NOTE for those who had trouble with a hard, over cooked cookie base: you might be using a 15x9 inch pan by mistake: it needs the smaller pan to make sure it is a thick enough layer to transform from a crisp cookie to a dense chewy texture. For a thinner crust, try lowering your heat by 25 degrees, and/or using a glass pan rather than a dark metal pan. Good luck!"
"I have made similar to this for years. This is my kids birthday cake. I use oreo cookies crumbled for the base and I sometimes use butterscotch pudding. We have a different name for this, but the kids have to call it pudding layered dessert. We call it "Sex in a pan". I have also made this for my diabetic husband, with sugar free cookies, whip cream and pudding. Still delicious."
"I have made this under a different name: "Texas Panhandler", used peanut butter cookie roll."
"So amazing! Can't wait to make again!"
"One of my favorite, most asked for dishes"
"I defiently agree with the other review when it comes to making sure that you do NOT over cook the cookie dough. I didn't even leave it in the oven half the time that the recipe called for, infact I thought it still looked a little doughy when I got it out, but when I tried to get a piece the next morning...it was inpossible to get out of the dish. I tried the recipe again, but this time didn't bake the dough even as long as the first time and made sure to let it cool a little bit before adding the cream cheese mixture and it was much better. I also used a packet of white chocolate pudding and cheesecake pudding the second time around, instead of the vanilla and chocolate, and liked it even better. Either way...beware the cookie dough."
"I have made this one over and over with light everything and sugar-free puddings...always a hit."
"This is a yummy and easy recipe, works nice for any kind of pot luck or group function. I took it to a going away party for a co-worker and it was a big hit!"
"wonderful recipe. I used sugarfree puddings and lite topping, everyone loved it."
"I made this when my husband asked for something different from cookies and cakes. It was an overwhelming hit. Will definitely make it again."
"Very easy to make. It was a crowd pleaser."
"My Mom made this years ago with a graham cracker crust but the cookie crust makes it even better than the original!"
"This is so wonderful and so easy. My kids enjoyed helping me make it and eat it."
"This was a very good recipe. I brought it to work and it was gone in no time. I made it just like the recipe says except I didn't use nuts or chocolate curls."
"I substitute the chopped nuts and choc. curls with mini chocolate chips on top. Delicious!"
"A big hit, especially with my brother in law who has a huge sweet tooth."
"I have made this recipe for years, except i make a butter crust instead of cookies. This way you can use different puddings. Pistachio is great!"
"If you use a graham cracker crust, you can use lemon, pistachio, or my favorite butterscotch pudding in place of the chocolate. Yum-yum."
"I cut this recipe in half (just the one chocolate pudding mix, for example), for my family of four, and prepared it in an 8x8 pan. It turned out great!"
"This was delicious. My family ate the whole thing in two days. Yum!!!"
"This was REALLY good!!"
"All my favorite things, I can't wait to try this recipe!"
