"I joined fellow Taste of Home Volunteer Field Editors to share on our blogs reviews of recipes from the Taste of Home website. My recipe review is for chocolate Biscuit Puffs. This recipe seemed like a perfect little snack to enjoy with my husband and son on a lazy afternoon.

The recipe is so simple: buttermilk biscuit dough from a tube, milk chocolate and cinnamon-sugar. That's it! Baked at high heat for only 10 minutes.
The recipe calls for a tube of ten regular buttermilk biscuits, but when I went to my store I could only find the "Grands!" biscuits: they're grander and therefore the tube only had eight.
Since they're larger I put in two pieces of Hershey's chocolate instead of just one. This variety of biscuit also bakes at a lower temperature than called for in the recipe, and for about twenty minutes. That twenty minutes flew by though, and those warm biscuit puffs were tasty, light and oozing melted chocolate.
The cinnamon-sugar on the top makes a crunchy, delectable crust. Even if it isn't a lazy Sunday afternoon, I highly recommend these biscuits. Because they are so easy to put together they'd be a delightful snack to make and enjoy with kids after school."

"This was an extremely easy recipe. We used this as a jumping off point and made it our own. I put dark chocolate chips in two, mini oreos in one, and chocolate chips with peanut butter in the last one. They all tasted great, but they all popped open! I know I pinched them shut. Maybe it's because I got the generic brand instead. Either way, they were good, and this is a good starting recipe. I urge you to try other concoctions: snickers bars, peppermint paddies, jelly even! Just give it a shot :)"
