Chewy Peanut Butter Cookies Recipe

"I like to add candy bars to cookie dough for a change of pace," writes Christine Beeman of Horseheads, New York. Crushed Clark bars give a boost of peanut butter and chocolate flavor to these flourless peanut butter cookies. "I took them to work and they were a big hit," she notes.
TOTAL TIME: Prep: 20 min. Bake: 15 min. YIELD:12 servings


  • 1/2 cup peanut butter
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 3 (1-3/4 ounces each) Clark candy bar


  • 1. In a mixing bowl, combine peanut butter and sugar; beat in egg and vanilla. Stir in candy bars. Roll into 1-in. balls. Place 2 in. apart on ungreased baking sheets. Bake at 325° for 12-15 minutes or until golden brown. Remove to wire racks to cool. Yield: about 2 dozen.

"Very good Kind of like a "granola bar". I think you could add whatever nuts or dried fruit you wanted. I tried chocolate chips and nuts in some."

"I have been making these classic cookies for years. However, the addition of chocolate candy kicks up demand for the quick cookies. Since we love peanut butter I usually add more than the 1/2 cup of peanut butter. Be prepared to make many batches of these cookies!"
