Not all dips are savory. In fact, some of our favorite crowd-pleasing dips, like this cherry cheesecake dip, act as sweet desserts. Our cheesecake cherry dip is a convenient recipe that’s made with just a few ingredients and can be assembled ahead of time. Pair the treat with graham crackers or other crunchy dippers, and watch as everyone at the party quickly devours it!

The chilled cherry cheesecake dip recipe combines two textures: a fluffy bottom layer of cream cheese, marshmallow and whipped topping, and a top layer of juicy cherry pie filling. Scoop them together with a graham cracker to experience creamy cheesecake flavored with the soft texture of sweetened whole cherries.

Ingredients for Cherry Cheesecake Dip

  • Cherry pie filling: Desserts with pie filling utilize canned ingredients as a shortcut. Cherry pie filling is full of fruit flavor and texture, and gives the dip a vivid color too.
  • Cream cheese: The sweet ingredients in this dip are balanced with a little tang from cream cheese, which is the same flavor we adore in no-bake cheesecake recipes.
  • Marshmallow creme: We love recipes with marshmallow creme. The ingredient gives the cherry cheesecake dip recipe loads of sweetness and a wonderfully gooey texture.
  • Frozen whipped topping: Thawed whipped topping (like Cool Whip) is blended with the cream cheese and marshmallow creme to lighten the dip’s texture.
  • Whole graham crackers: Real cheesecake has a graham cracker crust, so we serve the cheesecake cherry dip with graham crackers.

Directions

Step 1: Beat the cream cheese mixture

In a large bowl, beat the cream cheese on medium speed until smooth, three to four minutes.

Editor’s Tip: For a smooth texture with no lumps, soften the cream cheese ahead of time. If you forgot, don’t worry; you can soften it in an air fryer or microwave.

Reduce the mixer speed to medium-low, and beat in the marshmallow creme and whipped topping until the mixture is smooth and fluffy, two to three minutes.

Step 2: Assemble the cheesecake dip

Pour the cream cheese mixture into a serving dish and spread it into an even layer.

Editor’s Tip: We recommend choosing a flat serving dish that’s large enough to hold the dip while keeping the layers thin enough for easy scooping.

Cherry Cheesecake Dip Variations

  • Add mini chocolate chips: Blend 1 cup mini chocolate chips into the cream cheese layer for texture and bits of chocolate in every scoop.
  • Make it nutty: Add crunch to the cherry cheesecake dip recipe with chopped walnuts, almonds or pistachios. (Toast the nuts first for even more flavor.) You can blend them into the cream cheese layer or sprinkle them on top of the cherry filling.
  • Try a chocolate cheesecake dip: Blend 1/3 cup cocoa powder into the cream cheese mixture to make a chocolaty base for the cherry pie filling.
  • Include almond flavor: Cherry and almond are a fantastic flavor pairing! Blend 1/2 teaspoon almond extract into the cherry pie filling before adding it to the dish.

How to Store Cherry Cheesecake Dip

Because cheesecake cherry dip contains dairy ingredients, it’s important to store the dip in the refrigerator to protect the flavor and quality. For short-term storage, you can keep the dip in the serving dish and wrap it with storage wrap. After a day, it’s best to transfer leftover cheesecake dip to an airtight container or a covered food storage container.

How long does cherry cheesecake dip last?

Our cherry cheesecake dip recipe is at its very best the day you make it—the longer the dip sits, the more the cherry juices will seep into the cream cheese layer and begin to loosen the texture. If you do have leftover dip, it can be stored in the fridge for up to three days. And if you run out, that’s okay because this is one of our easiest recipes with cream cheese to assemble and serve in no time.

Can you make cherry cheesecake dip ahead of time?

You can make cheesecake cherry dip ahead of time. The night before you plan to serve it, assemble and refrigerate the cream cheese mixture. Cover the serving dish to prevent it from drying out. Add the cherry pie filling two hours before you plan to serve it.

Can you make cherry cheesecake dip with real whipped cream?
