Caprese Salad Kabobs

- 24 grape tomatoes
- 12 cherry-size fresh mozzarella cheese balls
- 24 fresh basil leaves
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 teaspoons balsamic vinegar
- On each of 12 appetizer skewers, alternately thread 2 tomatoes, 1 cheese ball and 2 basil leaves. To serve, whisk together oil and vinegar; drizzle over kabobs.

These are great and always well received. My only addition is to slightly increase the amount of vinaigrette and to sprinkle with a good quality sea salt and coarsely ground fresh pepper.

I make these often for parties and back yard picnics. As someone stated below, they didn't like biting into the big pieces of basil, I normally thinly slice my basil into ribbons (roll up several leaves at a time and thinly slice). Then right before serving, I sprinkle the ribbons on top of the skewers. The ribbons adhere to the skewers because of the balsamic dressing. I have always gotten good feed back on these when I make them. Thank you for an easy but good recipe.

We love caprese salad. Serving it on skewers is perfect for entertaining. I double the recommended recipe because they disappear rapidly.

My family loves a Caprese salad and this was such a fun way to serve it at a recent backyard gathering that was mostly finger foods. I got my kids involved in making the skewers. I will definitely be making this again.

I loved these - so simple to make and very refreshing. Other members of my family thought they were a little bland and would like more spices. Will definitely make again and hopefully find the right spice combination so we can all enjoy these as much as I did.

Impressive and Tasty. I bumped up the taste by using one of our favorite salad dressings. It was thick enough to cover all of the ingredients. I suggest chilling the salad for a few hours prior to serving. Then use the drizzle right before serving. Great addition to any Buffet Table.Taste of Home Volunteer Editor. I recommend this one and I will make this one again. Its also open for many tweaks. Adding a cube of meat or switching out the cheese.

Not impressed. I think I would marinate things overnite in another "sauce" instead, then put on the skewers.

What if you don't like the taste of basil? Do you think spinach will be good with the balsamic? Thanks
