Reviews forBroccoli Side Dish
"easy and delicious side dish! I doubled the ingredients to go over the broccoli! I'm not the biggest broccoli fan, but I really liked this, definite keeper!"
"My husband and I loved this. I didn't make it in the microwave though. I steamed some fresh broccoli and during that, I melted the butter in a small sauce pan. Once it was melted I cooked the minced garlic for about 1 minute, then added in the brown sugar and soy sauce. Once the broccoli was done, I put it in the sauce pan and tossed it with the sauce. At the end I topped it with sesame seeds. DELICIOUS. The flavor is a bit more subtle than I expected, but it was perfect. Will make this again!"
"I made this broccoli tonight and my son loved it! I doubled the sauce, and like some of the other reviewers, I added some sesame oil too. I didn't use the microwave for this; instead I steamed the broccoli slightly first, and then simmered it in the sauce on the stovetop. Would have liked the sauce to be a bit thicker, but all in all, this is a good change of pace from your usual steamed broccoli!"
"I made this tonight and everyone loved it. After reading the reviews, I too added sesame oil and crushed red pepper flakes. Will make this again and again!"
"This recipe is easy and delicious! I halved the amount of sugar, and, as suggested, added 1/2 teaspoon sesame oil and 1/2 teaspoon Sriracha. I microwaved it until crisp tender using the sauce as the steaming liquid. I will add this side dish to my keeper list!"
"This is one AWESOME broccoli recipe! Tasted just like what you get in the Chinese restaurants!! I added about 1/2 teaspoon of sesame oil to suit our tastes ..... this has become my new "go to" VEGETABLE recipe. I've made it using green beans, instead of broccoli as well as asparagus. The sauce is so versatile, I even tried it on a piece of grilled pork chop that I was eating. It was fantastic! I just may have to take a bath in the stuff!!"
"Loved it, but my 6 year old didn't like it."
"This was a great combo! Even my daughter enjoyed it!"
"This turned out awesome! I added in a small can of yellow corn and my family ate it up! There was not any left."
