Banana Eggnog Bread

This time of year, one of my favorite snacks is warm banana bread with a glass of nog. I decided to combine the two, and was so happy with the resulting eggnog bread. —Kristin Stone, Little Elm, Texas
Ingredients

1/2 cup butter, softened

1-1/2 cups sugar

2 large eggs, room temperature

1 cup mashed ripe bananas (about 2 medium)

1/4 cup eggnog

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1-3/4 cups all-purpose flour

1 teaspoon baking powder

1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg, divided

1/4 teaspoon salt

1/8 teaspoon baking soda
Directions

Preheat oven to 350°. In a large bowl, cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy, 5-7 minutes. Add eggs, 1 at a time, beating well after each addition. Beat in bananas, eggnog and vanilla. In another bowl, whisk flour, baking powder, 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg, salt and baking soda; gradually beat into banana mixture.

Transfer to a greased 9x5-in. loaf pan; sprinkle with remaining 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg. Bake 50-60 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool in pan 10 minutes before removing to a wire rack to cool.
