Asian Patties Recipe

I got this recipe from a television cooking show some years ago. I like to mix the burgers together in the morning and refrigerate until dinnertime. - Patricia Rubsam, Hillsboro, Oregon
TOTAL TIME: Prep/Total Time: 25 min. YIELD:4 servings

  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 to 4 tablespoons minced fresh cilantro
  • 1 green onion, chopped
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 7 drops hot pepper sauce
  • Pinch pepper
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 4 hamburger buns, split

  • 1. In a bowl, combine the first seven ingredients. Crumble beef over the mixture and mix well. Shape into four patties.
  • 2. Broil or grill until no longer pink. Serve on buns. Yield: 4 servings.

Recipe Note

Freeze leftover minced fresh parsley in a resealable plastic bag. Use it directly from the freezer in any recipe calling for fresh or dried parsley.

"We thought these were excellent (my daughter said, "Tasty and satisfying!"), and we'll definitely be making these again. Wonderful mixture of ingredients that made for a GREAT flavor - I put my usual mustard on my first one, but ate the second one plain because I really thought they tasted like they didn't need anything extra!

I used 1 tablespoon dried cilantro and 1 tsp. chopped ginger (from a jar) because that is what I had on hand."

"I made these under the broiler because it's not yet "grill weather" here, but am eager to try them on the grill."

"AWESOME! A great change of pace from the standard burger. I topped these burgers with store bought coleslaw mix dressed with Asian salad dressing. They were the hit of the back yard BBQ! Try them you'll see."
