When I had some apple schnapps, I thought of mixing it with chilled cider. Adding green food coloring and dipping the rim of the glass in red sugar creates a fun cocktail for Christmas.—Crystal Schlueter, Northglenn, Colorado

Ingredients

  • Red-colored sugar
  • Grenadine syrup
  • 4 ounces chilled apple cider or juice
  • 2 ounces apple schnapps liqueur
  • 2 drops green food coloring

Directions

Sprinkle a thin layer of sugar on a plate. Moisten the rim of a martini glass with grenadine syrup; hold glass upside down and dip rim into sugar. Add apple juice to glass; gently stir in liqueur and food coloring. Yield: 1 serving.

"Apple schnapps is often green, but you can also find it in red or clear, so in that case you could use red food coloring and green sugar if you'd like."
