Apple Amaretto Sours Tips

How do you make an amaretto sour from scratch?

To make a classic amaretto sour recipe, mix 1-1/2 ounces amaretto liqueur, 1 ounce simple syrup, and 3/4 ounce fresh lemon juice. Garnish with a maraschino cherry and an orange slice. For this apple version of an amaretto sour, try making homemade apple cider. Once you've mastered this drink, mix up even more delicious amaretto cocktails.

What ingredient is amaretto made of?

Amaretto is made from bitter almonds, or sometimes from stone fruits that contain the same flavor compound found in almonds. Along with cocktails like an amaretto sour, you can use it in desserts. Try Amaretto Dream Cupcakes or this Amaretto Cake with Buttercream Frosting.

What other drinks are good for the holidays?

The best ones are shared with friends and family—especially this collection of Christmas drinks. Cozy up with Hot Buttered Rum or one of these rich, creamy hot chocolate recipes (here's some inspiration for creative mix-ins for the best hot chocolate). And you can't go wrong with the holiday classics, like Old-Fashioned Eggnog.
