Filling Canisters

Here’s how I transfer flour (or sugar) to a canister without a mess: When I get a new bag of flour, I completely cut off the top of the bag. Then I place a plastic bag over the flour bag and turn it upside down into my canister. When I remove the flour bag, its contents are neatly transferred into the plastic bag inside the canister. Later, when the flour is almost gone, I can easily remove the plastic bag to use up the last of it, and I’m left with a clean canister. —Lucille V., Waukegan, Illinois
