Trader Joe’s Customer Choice Awards Results Are In!
Did your favorite goods win the gold in Trader Joe's Customer Choice Awards?
Trader Joe’s has released the winners of their 11th annual Customer Choice Awards. This year we have both returning victors and all-new tasty treats you have to try!
If you’ve ever spent way too much at Trader Joe’s, raise your hand. Even though they’re known for their low prices, it’s hard not to overspend when they have every decadent and savory guilty pleasure imaginable. Over the years, Trader Joe’s has developed a pretty extensive fan base, which has inspired the Customer Choice Awards. Out of the way, Academy Awards, because Trader Joe’s has just released the winning snacks of 2019. Did your main munchies make the list?
Now this one’s a mouthful—no pun intended. The Everything but the Bagel Sesame Seasoning Blend won as choice Favorite Condiment, and with all the inclusions like garlic, onion and sea salt, we can see why. We think it’d taste perfect on homemade bagels. Don’t you?
You might remember Trader Joe’s Mandarin Orange Chicken as the reigning champ last year, and it’s taken a different crown this year as favorite entrée! Customers can’t get enough of that sweet, meaty flavor, and neither can we. What’s better is it comes vegetarian, too.
Favorite Vegan/Vegetarian Item
Imported all the way from Italy, Trader Joe’s Cauliflower Gnocchi is so good it snagged the prize for Favorite Vegan/Vegetarian Item. It was a hit with customers across the nation. It’s also an ideal substitute for plain ol’ gnocchi in our five-star Creamy Chicken Gnocchi Soup recipe.
Favorite Sweet Treat
Not too long ago we pitted Trader Joe’s Milk Chocolate Peanut Butter Cups against some of our favorite brands, and they didn’t disappoint. We can only imagine the taste of the dark chocolate version that stole the spotlight from its milky predecessor this year.
In the words of Trader Joe’s, “move over, Peanut Butter Pretzels!” Trader Joe’s Plantain Chips one-upped last year’s winner by being oh, so crunchy and delicious that fans just couldn’t get enough. Bonus, they come jerk-style, too. How could anyone turn that down?
Oat milk is all the rage right now, so it’s no surprise Trader Joe’s Non-Dairy Oat Beverage took center stage for Favorite Beverage this year. It’s creamy and perfect mixed in with your favorite tea or cereal. And if you really love living on the edge, it’s a great sipper on its own!
We LOVE all things avocado at Taste of Home, and we’re proud to announce Teeny Tiny Avocados as the favorite Trader Joe’s produce. It looks like little fruits and vegetables are on the rise since the release of itty bitty oranges, and it’s definitely a trend we can get behind.
Despite the name, based on last year’s results we actually expected the Unexpected Cheddar Cheese to have a place in this year’s winning lineup. It’s back as everyone’s Favorite Cheese, and we think it’d make a pretty tasty addition to one of our yummiest cheddar cheese recipes.
Favorite in Home, Bath & Beauty
The Favorite in Home, Bath & Beauty was claimed by none other than Trader Joe’s Scented Candles. With scents like Lemon Cookie, Honeycrisp Apple and Mango Tangerine, it’s really no surprise customers turned over the limelight to these cozy fresheners.
You can find the complete list of winners on the Trader Joe’s website. We can’t wait for next year’s Customer Choice Awards, and in the meantime, we have plenty of tempting treats to look out for.
