If you’ve ever spent way too much at Trader Joe’s, raise your hand. Even though they’re known for their low prices, it’s hard not to overspend when they have every decadent and savory guilty pleasure imaginable. Over the years, Trader Joe’s has developed a pretty extensive fan base, which has inspired the Customer Choice Awards. Out of the way, Academy Awards, because Trader Joe’s has just released the winning snacks of 2018. Did your main munchies make the list?

A Returning Champion
You might remember Trader Joe’s Mandarin Orange Chicken as the reigning champ last year, and it’s taken the crown again! Customers can’t get enough of that sweet, meaty flavor, and neither can we. What’s better is it comes vegetarian, too.
Creamy Spinach and Artichoke Dip has claimed the title of Favorite Appetizer, and for good reason. We love the stuff, and it’s the savoriest way to kick off dinner. If you can’t get your hands on a box of this winning snack, here’s our best made-at-home recipe.
Hailing from Racine, Wisconsin, is the Danish Kringle, the bakery item that won in the same category last year. Our favorite type of fresh-baked kringle has a nutty hint of almond that makes it a consumer favorite.
Does this line of Sparking Mineral Waters count as one beverage? Trader Joe’s thinks so. Every flavor nabbed a place in this category, so they must be pretty worthy of it. We wonder how these stack up against other brands.
Not too long ago we pitted Trader Joe’s Milk Chocolate Peanut Butter Cups against some of our favorite brands, and they didn’t disappoint. We can only imagine the taste of the dark chocolate version that stole the spotlight from its milky predecessor this year.
Despite the name, based on last year’s results we actually expected the Unexpected Cheddar Cheese to have a place in this year’s winning lineup. It’s back as everyone’s Favorite Cheese, and we think it’d make a pretty tasty addition to one of our yummiest cheddar cheese recipes.
Now this one’s a mouthful—no pun intended. The Everything but the Bagel Sesame Seasoning Blend won as choice Favorite Condiment, and with all the inclusions like garlic, onion and sea salt, we can see why. We think it’d taste perfect on homemade bagels. Don’t you?
If there’s anything better than ice cream, it’s bite-sized ice cream. Trader Joe’s has ruled Hold the Cone! Mini Vanilla Ice Cream Cones the victor of this category, and we’re inclined to agree. Maybe we should add these adorable cones to our list of cute and yummy mini desserts.

Mandarin Orange Chicken won best in show AND everyone’s most beloved entrée. It’s easy, quick and the perfect way to bring a sweet, tangy taste to the table. If you can’t get to Trader Joe’s to grab this winner, you can always try recreating it with our takeout fake-out recipes.
Favorite Home, Bath and Beauty
OK, we know this one isn’t food, but since it won a category, we think it’s worth a mention. The Tea Tree Tingle Shampoo does wonders for your hair, and tea tree oil alone has plenty of uses. Beauty and body care are a couple of them, but it’s also great for cleaning and deodorizing when mixed with vinegar. Who knew?
Favorite Meal on the Go
Whether you’re rushing out the door or binging the newest TV series, the Black Bean and Jack Cheese Burrito is for you. According to Trader Joe’s not only did this win favorite on-the-go meal but also Favorite Crew Member Lunch of 2018. We love microwavable, but nothing beats homemade.
Trader Joe’s calls Carne Asada Autentica a “BBQ champ,” so it’s no wonder it took first place in this category. Even in the packaging it’s looking seasoned and tender, and we wouldn’t mind taking a bite out of this winner. Carne Asada Autentica has us craving one of these tasty barbecue recipes.
We LOVE all things avocado at Taste of Home, and we’re proud to announce Teeny Tiny Avocados as the favorite Trader Joe’s produce. It looks like little fruits and vegetables are on the rise since the release of itty bitty oranges, and it’s definitely a trend we can get behind.
Take the two best things in the world and put them together, and you get Peanut Butter Filled Pretzels. It’s the perfect blend of salty and sweet to soothe all kinds of cravings. What could possibly be better? (Oh look, a peanut butter CHOCOLATE pretzel recipe. How convenient.)
If you’ve made the switch to the vegan/vegetarian lifestyle but still crave that chorizo heat, Trader Joe’s has you covered. Soy Chorizo lets you indulge without meat, and we’re pretty okay with it. All you carnivores can give this chorizo and plenty of other vegan dishes a try, too.
Last year taste tested all of those Trader Joe’s seasonal items, and the Candy Cane Joe-Joes were just as delicious as they sound. You can catch a peppermint chunk in every nibble, and this Favorite Seasonal cookie already has us excited for Christmas. It looks like we’re not the only ones.
You can find the complete list of winners on the Trader Joe’s website. We can’t wait for next year’s Customer Choice Awards, and in the meantime, we have plenty of tempting treats to look out for.
