Here at Taste of Home, we take our gingerbread very seriously. We’ve constructed everything from cabins to cottages to over-the-top barns (see how we made marshmallow sheep!). But our greatest feat by far is a life-sized house that pops at our Gingerbread Boulevard event each year. It combines a few of our favorite things: candy, coffee and family fun!

This year, we’re hosting our fifth annual holiday celebration from December 6-19 in Madison Square Park, NYC. Get full details here.

In the meantime, check out a few photos that we snapped during last year’s event.

Happy families are braving the city’s chill to get a peek inside our gingerbread house. Bundling up for your city’s holiday event? Be sure to pack one of our favorite warm drink recipes that’ll keep you feeling cozy.

Our 2017 gingerbread house had a special surprise inside: an interactive 4-D experience! Kids (and kids at heart) were able to participate in a virtual journey through a candy-studded land that tickled all of the senses as a snowy gust blew through the house and the smell of fresh gingerbread warmed the air.

Grownups were able to have in on the fun, too, as Folgers invited them to a cup of coffee and to share their favorite holiday memories.

Pro tip: Gingerbread cookies—and these other home-baked treats—are perfect for dunking in coffee.

Who could resist snapping a selfie with our too-cute snowman? Re-create a mini version at home by using marshmallows, pretzel rods, gumdrops and chocolate chips! Better yet, try these adorable snow-shaped treats.

The Gingerbread Boulevard festivities continued into the night. The glow of the bustling city and a giant Christmas tree made the perfect backdrop for the event.
