Creuset America Pepper 8 Inch Caribbeanvia amazon.com

Le Creuset Pepper Mill

After a day of editing digital articles for Taste of Home, I love to get in the kitchen and make a home-cooked meal. Every once in awhile, I treat myself to a really nice gadget or appliance for the kitchen. It took me years to commit to spending $40 on a salt container, but I have zero regrets. Now a few years later, I think I’m finally ready to splurge on a pepper mill. The Le Creuset Pepper Mill is gorgeous, and since I’ll use it almost every day, I know it’ll be worth it.—Emily Racette Parulski, Senior Editor

Pamapic Pieces Furniture Outdoor Ottomansvia amazon.com

Wicker Patio Furniture Set

Last summer, my wife and I renovated our front porch. Now it’s absolutely gorgeous—but we have nowhere to sit! I love that this patio furniture set has ottomans that tuck beneath the chairs to save space when we’re not using them, plus a side table for a quick weeknight cocktail.—Lara Euclano, Senior Editor

AeroGarden Indoor Hydroponic Garden

I love fresh herbs. But as someone with a less-than-green thumb, it can be a struggle to keep plants alive. That’s where this high-tech AeroGarden comes in. It features smart technology that tells you when it’s time to water or fertilize your plants, and an LED grow light system automatically turns on and off as needed. Plus, the AeroGarden’s sleek design takes up just a small amount of counter space—perfect for us apartment dwellers!—Katie Bandurski, Associate Editor

Lodge Enameled Classic Enamel Islandvia amazon.com

Lodge Enameled Cast Iron Dutch Oven

I got into baking homemade bread right around the same time I was hired at Taste of Home three years ago. My skills were solid, but I was able to up my game when I started making no-knead bread in my 6-quart Lodge cast iron Dutch oven. Baking at a high temperature in a covered Dutch oven traps the steam inside, yielding a perfect crust and a nice, fluffy loaf of bread. This Dutch oven is perfect because it has a metal knob, making it oven safe. I’m excited to add a new one to my collection in a fresh color. —Jeanne Sidner, Chief Content Officer

Smeg 50s Retro Toaster

I’m a sucker for aesthetically pleasing kitchen appliances. But as a Commerce Editor, I can’t overlook quality—which is why I love Smeg. The Italian appliance manufacturer has been designing and perfecting kitchen electronics since the late 40s. The Smeg 50s Retro Toaster features six browning levels and extra wide slots to toast even the thickest slices of ciabatta. The removable crumb tray makes cleaning easy. And the look? This toaster can live on the kitchen counter permanently—right next to my Smeg electric kettle. —Megan Wood, Commerce Affiliate Marketing Editor

Ozeri Pronto Kitchen and Food Scale

Back in 2014, I bought the Ozeri Pronto Kitchen and Food Scale because my family does a lot of baking. We like to weigh our ingredients to make sure the recipes come out consistently. The Ozeri’s simple design makes it easy to toggle between modes and it’s easy for anyone to use—even my 6-year-old knows how. Seven years later, this budget buy still works perfectly, and we haven’t even had to change the battery!—Ellie Martin Cliffe, Executive Editor

I use mason jars for everything—in the kitchen, of course, plus in the bathroom, in my home office, even when packing snacks for trips.
