It’s the most wonderful time of the year—for those full of Halloween spirit. Store shelves are already filling up with Halloween gifts and pumpkin spice lattes will soon be in our coffee mugs. That’s why we’re so excited to celebrate with the most festive accessory: An orange Christmas tree. Here’s why we’re counting down the days until we can put one up.
Traditional Christmas trees have gotten a major color upgrade. You can now buy trees in a rainbow of bright colors to celebrate when and how you want. With sweater-weather right around the corner, this bright orange, faux fir tree from Walmart is a must-have for Halloween enthusiasts.
This festive fall tree features bright orange branches that easily pull down and fluff up to hold all your spooky-season decorations. It adds Halloween cheer to any room of the house. Plus, since it collapses easily, it won’t take up too much room when stored away for the following year.
Whatever your Halloween style—whimsical, retro, scary or crafty—the possibilities for decorating an orange Christmas tree are endless. If you’re unsure where to start, search the hashtag #HalloweenChristmasTree on Instagram for design inspiration (here are some of the Halloween Christmas tree design ideas we love).
No matter how you decorate your orange Christmas tree, it will make a festive statement! And if you’re not ready to commit to a full-sized Halloween tree, this ceramic Halloween tree is a great option. At 15 inches high, it’s the perfect size to add Halloween cheer to your coffee table or entryway.
Pros:
Cons:
Like many artificial trees, this tree is made from a combination of PVC, metal and plastic, making it long-lasting, durable, easy to set up and tear down and convenient for storage between holiday seasons. The one that we tested was not pre-lit, but there is a three-foot version from the same brand (Vickerman) that does come pre-lit (it’s also pricier at $77 instead of $48).
We tested the 3-foot version, but the tree is also available in 4.5- and 5.5-foot options. Listings for 6.5-, 7.5- and 9-foot trees are also available, but they are currently out of stock at all retailers. It also came with a plastic stand and metal-hinged branches that are easy to bend to the desired effect.
We started by wrapping it in colorful lights—like this purple and orange LED combo or these candy corn-inspired string lights. We replaced typical Christmas ornaments with fall-inspired decorations, like these glass candy corn ornaments or an array of spooky skull ornaments.
Then, we added a dash of (extra) texture to the tree with a spool or two of cosmic Halloween ribbon, spider web garland and this charming ghost garland, completing the look with creepy faux spiders dangling from the branches.

No, the tree we tested does not come pre-lit. We did find this pre-lit Vickerman option, although it is only available in the three-food version.
Sizing ranges from as small as three feet to as tall as nine feet. As of this writing, presently available sizes include 3 feet, 4.5 feet and 5.5 feet.
Yes. It is just as easy to assemble and disassemble as a standard fake Christmas tree—you just have to set it in the base and fan out the branches for the desired effect.
While there’s only a single review for the orange Halloween tree on Walmart, it is a five-star review from a verified purchaser named Lee, who states that the tree is “[the] perfect size and very pretty.”
If you’ve ever put together an artificial Christmas tree, this one won’t surprise you, as the only real difference is the bright orange coloring. It’s otherwise indistinguishable from other PVC trees. As such, it’s very easy to set up, take down, store and repeat every year—which is certainly a positive for anyone who enjoys timely holiday decorating.
This orange artificial tree is a breath of fresh air regarding festive, unique Halloween decorations. Its colors are vibrant and long-lasting, and its construction makes it incredibly simple to put up and take down, even year after year. While we wish it were pre-lit, the lower cost helps compensate for that minor downside. If you’re searching for Halloween decor that will surprise and amuse, you can’t go wrong with this orange artificial fir tree.
You can get an orange Christmas tree from Walmart and Target, where it costs $50 to $140, depending on the size. If you want to go even bigger (and easier) with this year’s Halloween decor, we recommend this pre-lit orange Christmas tree that stands seven and a half feet tall.
Once you place your order, put on a scary movie, plop these Halloween hot cocoa bombs into your cup and get ready to welcome spooky season!
