Trader Joe’s Samples Are Back, and We Can’t Wait to Try All the New Products

Trader Joe's samples are finally back after a long hiatus.

If there’s one thing we looked forward to more than Trader Joe’s seasonal releases—like all the great new fall products—it was grabbing a bite of them while filling up our cart. Trader Joe’s samples were definitely a highlight of our shopping trips, and we were all a little broken up when the store got rid of them during 2020 when the pandemic hit.

But there’s good news for free samples fans—TJ’s is bringing its samples back again.

Trader Joe’s Samples Are Finally Back

While Costco’s free samples returned early last year, TJ’s was taking its time when it came to the return of samples. However, they finally announced the return of free in-store samples in October, and we couldn’t be more excited!

While TJ’s offers tons of fascinating new products, and I personally will always ask the staff for recommendations, people may be reluctant to try some of their more unique offerings. The samples are a great way to try something before you spend a few dollars on it, and allow the staff to back up their recommendations. Plus, who can say no to a free snack during a shopping trip?

What’s Different This Time?

While TJ’s free samples used to feature staple items, like the things we only buy at TJ’s, but the chain is hoping to change it up a little. According to People Magazine, a spokesperson said, “We are bringing it back with a new approach. We want to focus a little more on new products. Things not necessarily on your shopping list but things we’re excited to share. Customers can stop by their neighborhood store and talk to the crew to find out what’s new.” We’ve tested eight flavors to find the best Trader Joe’s macarons.

You can bet I’ll be stopping by for a bite or two! Before you hit up the store, read up on how Trader Joes’ keeps items cheap and why some people get free flowers at Trader Joe’s.
