Pumpkin spice gets all the love, but autumn is really for apples.
Thankfully, Trader Joe’s got the message and recently launched an apple cider jam. This seasonal product joins the established ranks of apple cider doughnuts, apple cider cookies and even apple cider hand soap.
For anyone who ever wished that apple cider came in condiment form, this jam, filled with chunks of real apple and cider spices like cinnamon and nutmeg, is coziness in a jar.
Use It Everywhere This Season
The apple cider jam can be used anywhere typical fruit jam would be called for. Swap it for grape jelly in a classic PB&J, slather it on a warm, toasted English muffin for a morning treat, mix it into yogurt for a sweet mid-afternoon snack or add the jam to crisp bacon and gooey Havarti in a bistro apple panini. We’ll even try a dollop alongside apple slices and spiced pecans to gussy up a cheese board for entertaining!
Whether you prefer a tart Granny Smith or sweet Honeycrisp, are you using the right apple for your recipe?
Make Fall Last Year-Round
Trader Joe’s apple cider jam saves you the hard apple-picking work. Anyone who’s blessed with an overabundance of seasonal fruit and has time to spare can tackle a weekend jam-making project, though.
Start off with a homemade apple butter or apple pie jam to preserve autumn’s bounty. Of course, this is just a sampling of what you can make! For more inspiration, build your canning repertoire with our delightful jam recipes.
