The Cheesecake Factory is famous for having a virtually unlimited number of food items on its giant spiral-bound menu. Unfortunately, some of them will soon be going to that display case in the sky. Eliminating menu items is something that the chain has done throughout its existence. Being able to remove less popular dishes and add trendy new items is part of how The Cheesecake Factory has managed to boast “something for everyone” and stay in business for more than 50 years.

Never fear because every time The Cheesecake Factory closes a door, it opens a window. In this instance, the chain closed 13 doors and opened 23 windows. So it’s a win!

Which menu items have been cut?

If you searched the lengthy menu for any of these, my Parmesan-crusted heart goes out to you. The 13 items that will no longer be available are:

  • Everything Flatbread Pizza
  • Mushroom Burger
  • Seared Ahi Tuna Salad
  • White Chicken Chili
  • Spicy Cashew Chicken
  • Bistro Shrimp Pasta
  • Fried Shrimp Platter
  • Petite Filet
  • Factory Combinations
  • Loaded Mashed Potato Omelette
  • Taco Dorados and Eggs
  • SkinnyLicious Lemon Herb Parmesan Chicken
  • SkinnyLicious Spicy Shrimp Pasta

What’s new on the menu?

The Cheesecake Factory is leaning into viral food trends for this menu revamp. It’s hard to underscore just how much influence TikTok has on the food scene at large! Several of the new menu additions, like the Asian Cucumber Salad and Thai Stir Fried Noodles, were inspired by viral TikTok recipes.

The new mean leans into the increasing popularity of mocktails with several new drink options, some of which feature the tart citrus fruit, yuzu. Of course, The Cheesecake Factory is not above “inspiration” from its competitors, which is how a Double Smash Burger ended up on the menu. The famous brown bread is also being turned into a bun for any of your sandwich needs.

In all, this is a great way for The Cheesecake Factory to stay relevant and serve food that fans actually want to eat. I can think of another popular chain that could benefit from following this lead and permanently bring back, oh, I don’t know, the Mexican pizza.
