Fans know all of Taylor Swift’s likes and dislikes. Likes: cats. Dislikes: haters. She definitely likes to bake, and her homemade Pop Tarts and her chai cookie recipe went viral. In her 2016 Netflix documentary Miss Americana, she even cooks spaghetti for her best friend, Abigail.

But what does she reach for when she doesn’t feel like shaking off a bunch of flour? I found out Taylor Swift’s favorite candy, and I obviously had to buy some of my own.

What is Taylor Swift’s favorite candy?

In a 2019 interview, she mentioned a candy from the U.K. called Squashies. “I was like ‘This is legit candy,’” Taylor recalled. “It’s gummy, it tastes like a combination of strawberries and raspberries, also cherries, it’s pink and white, it’s all the things I love.”

What do Squashies taste like?

I’m a huge fan of gummy candies, so it’s nice to know that Taylor and I have the same taste. I ordered three flavors: Original Raspberry (which is what she described in the interview), Bubblegum, and Cherry and Apple.

I tried the Original Raspberry first. I was surprised by how light and fluffy these are! They’re like a combination of taffy and gum, with that super-soft quality of circus peanuts. If you’re someone who wonders what it might be like to chew on a makeup sponge, I feel like Squashies are going to scratch that itch for you in a much more flavorful way.

The flavor is strong but not overpowering. I think the way she describes it is accurate. Even though this is technically “raspberry,” it’s a very good mix of generic “red berry” candy flavor. The Bubblegum flavor is also delicious and made me feel like a kid again. There’s something nostalgic about classic bubblegum flavor, especially in this chewy form.

If I had to pick a favorite, though, it would definitely be the Cherry and Apple! I didn’t know it when I ordered them, but this is actually a sour Squashie option. It has just a hit of sourness that elevates the flavor of both cherry and apple without being too pucker-inducing. Plus, it didn’t have any of that sour “sugar” dusting on it that a lot of sour gummy candies typically have. It was all the flavor without any of the mess, and I appreciated that.

Where can you buy Squashies?

Since these are a U.K. product, it can be tricky to find them. I bought my Squashies on a website called Candy Funhouse, and they cost $10 to ship but arrived from Canada within a couple of days. Candy Funhouse seems to have the most availability of flavors if you just want to give them a try, but you can also buy Squashies in bulk on Amazon. If you have a blank space in your pantry, you should fill it with Squashies.
