This version of Teddy Grahams is not for the kids.

The Starbucks ‘Teddy Grahams Shaken Espresso’ Is Like the Adult Version of the Snack

If you’ve been on social media recently, you’ve probably seen some version of the Teddy Grahams shaken espresso. This Starbucks secret menu drink has taken TikTok by storm, and everyone who orders the drink seems to love it.
As an introvert, you betcha I am not in my comfort zone when I have to ask for anything out of the ordinary at Starbucks. Sometimes, I chicken out of ordering what I really want because I’m afraid the barista will get exasperated with me. But a shaken espresso that also tastes like the cutest kid’s snack ever? I knew I had to overcome my Starbucks fears for this one.
How to Order a Teddy Grahams Shaken Espresso
There are so many iterations of this drink that I’m not sure which one is the original. Most recipes I saw called for four or more pumps of sweeteners. Since I’d rather taste the coffee than all the syrup, I went with one crafted by a Starbucks employee, TikTok creator @GrahamCracker888.
Here’s what my order looked like:
- Grande brown sugar shaken espresso with blonde espresso
- Oat milk
- Pump of honey blend
- Vanilla sweet cream cold foam
- Sprinkle cinnamon
Because this version started with the Starbucks Brown Sugar Shaken Espresso, I had a feeling I would like this Teddy Grahams version. I’ll drink anything with brown sugar in it (hello, Brown Sugar Cinnamon Cortado).
It didn’t actually taste like the Teddy Grahams I grew up snacking on after school until I really mixed in all the cinnamon. Even then, the espresso made it a more bitter version of the snack. Honestly, though, I liked it that way! If I’m drinking a sweetened espresso drink, I still want to taste the espresso.
10/10, would order again.
Tips for Ordering Secret Menu Drinks
To be honest, this was my first time ordering anything from a secret menu. I went in with notes written in my phone’s Notes app and read them directly to the barista. That felt way more comfortable than asking if the barista knew how to make a “Teddy Grahams shaken espresso.”
The secret menu isn’t official, and baristas are already working at the speed of light to get orders out. If you want to try this drink, bring a list of ingredients or order with the app. It’s easy to customize a drink that way, plus it’ll be ready for pickup when you get to the shop.
