We were ecstatic to learn the famed PSL will be dropping this week, along with the rest of the Starbucks fall menu. August 27 is the official release date for the popular seasonal latte, and hopefully we’ll see some more pumpkin goods in stores soon. If that news didn’t already have you excited for the season, this update surely will.
For the first time since the PSL’s debut in 2003, Starbucks has added another pumpkin-inspired drink to the menu. Fill your cup this fall with the brand-new Pumpkin Cream Cold Brew!
Your New Favorite Cold Brew
Move over, PSL, there’s a new contender in the race for best-selling seasonal item. The Pumpkin Cream Cold Brew doesn’t pack the sugar that the Pumpkin Spice Latte does, but for all those black coffee lovers, its perfectly subtle sweetness is the best way to start the day.
Since it’s steeped for roughly 16 hours, cold brew is loaded with more caffeine than you’ll find in a latte. While Starbucks has experimented with cold brew before, this one combines a vanilla base with a heaping helping of cold foam sprinkled with pumpkin spice topping. We can assume the cold foam is made from Starbucks’ trademark Vanilla Sweet Cream and one to two pumps of pumpkin syrup then gently frothed, making for a sweet first sip followed by an otherwise strong coffee.
We’re more than a little excited, but if bitter coffee isn’t your thing, you can always add creamer or opt for an iced version of the PSL. Either way, Starbucks is your destination for all things fall this year.
Sneak a Peek at the Fall Menu
As much as we already love the Pumpkin Cream Cold Brew and the PSL, we have to admit we’re happy to see some other beverages making the cut this year. The Pumpkin Spice Frappuccino and the ever-complementary Pumpkin Cream Cheese Muffin and Pumpkin Scone will also be available in stores. Starbucks is also welcoming the Salted Caramel Mocha back in all its variations, hot latte, cold latte and Frappuccino.
Be at Starbucks on August 27
As soon as the doors open on Tuesday, August 27, customers will be rushing in to get the first taste of fall. If you want to get your hands on a Pumpkin Cream Cold Brew, you may have to move quick—the stores tend to run out of pumpkin faster on the day of release than any other part of the season. Make sure you fill up with all things pumpkin, and don’t miss these tips for getting the most from your Starbucks run.
