Starbucks’ New Coffee Line Pairs Perfectly with Sweet and Savory Breakfasts

It doesn't matter whether you eat bacon and eggs or waffles. Starbucks Pairings will match your breakfast!

As a huge fan of Starbucks, I’m always excited to see what drinks and changes come next. From color-changing reusable cups to quick at-home delivery, The ubiquitous coffee shop is constantly trying new things. Now, Starbucks is releasing a new innovation: Starbucks Pairings.

What You Need to Know About Starbucks Pairings

Starbucks partnered with The Culinary Institute of America to design a line of coffee that will complement your breakfast meal. It’s kind of like wine pairing, but with coffee that complements sweet and savory breakfasts ranging from waffles to omelets to avo toast. Starbucks Pairings launched three medium roast flavors: Sweet Mornings, Savory Mornings and Dessert.

What Food Do I Pair My Coffee With?

No matter what you’re eating for breakfast, there’s bound to be a coffee for you.

  • Sweet Mornings: Choose this blend when you’re opting for a sweet pick-me-up breakfast. The coffee has notes of cocoa and dried fruit which matches well with a fruit-filled pastry, cereal or yogurt.
  • Savory Mornings: If you prefer avocado toast over a stack of pancakes, then the Savory Mornings Blend is the right choice for you. This buttery blend has hints of herbs with pair beautifully with omelets, bacon and other salty, savory breakfasts.
  • Dessert Blend: Craving an indulgent dessert for breakfast? Make sure you grab a cup of this coffee. With a touch of orange zest and candied ginger, this coffee brings out the best in sweet, rich desserts.

Where can you get the Starbucks Pairings?

Right now, you can find ’em in Starbucks stores. The roasts are sold as ground coffee of K-cups for $10. We’ve heard rumors that Starbucks Pairings will be available on Amazon soon, too.

Pro Tip: If you get ground coffee, make sure you also find the best coffee maker and keep it clean so you can have the ultimate cup of joe.
