Stanley doesn’t have to try to impress us. They already make one of the best coffee tumblers around. Not to mention their creative cross-brand collaborations that bring us Wicked-inspired travel mugs and Barbiecore bottles sell out almost instantly. Even one of their most recent releases, a stunning partnership with LoveShackFancy, reinvents classic Christmas colors with a “pretty in pink” aesthetic. (Though they, of course, sell traditional holiday offerings as well.) When it comes to cutting-edge style, nobody is as tapped in as Stanley 1913.

Like the rest of the internet, we Taste of Home editors are absolutely head over heels for our Stanley Quenchers. After years of sipping from these insulated straws, we only have one gripe. Despite their incredible temperature retention and universal cupholder compatibility, a leaky lid makes it impossible to toss them in a bag while on the go. Well, Stanley finally created a solution to this unfortunate issue in the form of the new Stanley Quencher ProTour—and we’re already obsessed.

What is the Stanley Quencher ProTour?

Much like the original Quencher, the Stanley ProTour flip-top bottle boasts recycled stainless steel and double-walled vacuum insulation. This ensures that drinks stay at the perfect temperature for hours, regardless of whether you’re drinking steaming coffee or ice water. The new ProTour also includes a handle and fits into most cupholders thanks to the tapered base.

The ProTour differs in its introduction of an innovative leakproof lid. Instead of Stanley’s signature silicone straw top, the new iteration includes a hard plastic flip-down straw lid. Amazingly, each new piece—including the removable spout and replaceable gasket seal—is also completely dishwasher safe. Score!

Don’t think that trading your classic Stanley for this new cup means signing away all of your favorite colorways, either. The new tumbler is available in over 16 different shades, with more coming soon. Snag it in one of four sizes, including 14, 20, 30 and 40 ounces. (Just know that smaller sizes have fewer color options.)

How We Test Stanley Products

Our expert Product Testing Team took their search for the best coffee tumblers as seriously as they take their hydration. We tried 20 tumblers from popular brands and more niche—albeit well-reviewed—shops. Product Tester (and caffeine fiend) Sheri Kaz created rigid standards and subjected each travel coffee mug to the same 11 tests to see which performed the best overall. Over 730 data points and 50 hours later, we secured data in the following testing categories:

  • Temperature retention
  • Drinking experience
  • Ergonomics and handling
  • Leakproof capabilities
  • Durability
  • Specs
  • Cleaning
  • Lead detection

The results informed pieces like our Hydro Flask vs. Yeti comparison and our Stanley Aerolight coffee tumbler review. The latter earned our “best for travelers” accolade, beating out plenty of other top brands.

Additionally, Editor Madi Koetting put some serious time (nearly two years!) behind testing the internet-famous Stanley Quencher. Her take? It’s a great tumbler, albeit not leakproof. If you currently own the original Stanley Quencher, consider investing in one of these leakproof lids on Amazon.

Where to Buy the Stanley Quencher ProTour

The Quencher ProTour is available for purchase at Stanley starting Tuesday, December 3. The cups drop at 9 a.m. PT/12 p.m. ET. We suggest shopping early for the best size and color selection, especially if you’re eager to get your hands on the Messi GOAT tumbler.
