You know a viral drink trend was good when it becomes a real thing.

Sprite Plans to Drop a Flavor Inspired By a Viral Soda Trend

I spend a lot of time on FoodTok so I can report on trends—some inspiring, some questionable. In recent weeks, I found this family recipe for candied cranberries and hung on every word of this Kraft mac and cheese drama. You may also remember Sprite iced tea, which caught our attention like fish on a hook. This beverage went viral in July 2023 and reeled millions of views.
Sprite must’ve been taking notes, because the brand will officially drop Sprite + Tea this year!
What is Sprite + Tea?
Exactly what it sounds like. The trend itself was easy: Drop two bags of tea into a 20-ounce bottle of Sprite and let steep for 10 minutes. The earthy notes of the tea mix with the carbonated citrus of Sprite to create something we never even knew we needed.
The official version will be quite the same. with a killer combo of lemon, lime and black tea. The beauty of this beverage is in its simplicity! Sprite + Tea will be available as 20-ounce bottles of regular sugar and 12-pack cans of regular and zero sugar versions.

If you’re a fan of Arnold Palmers (aka a 50-50 blend of lemonade and iced tea), you’re bound to be a fan of Sprite + Tea. I’m going on record to say this will be the soda sensation of 2025, even more popular than Shirley Temple 7Up was in 2024.
When will the new Sprite drop?
Sprite + Tea is a limited edition drop. It will start poppin’ onto shelves on May 19, 2025 and stay through mid-October, according to @sodaseekers on Instagram. That’s five full months of Sprite + Tea goodness to get us through the hot and humid weather. I know I’ll be pouring a glass over ice and drinking it poolside!
