Thanks to Ree Drummond, the small city of Pawhuska, Oklahoma has officially become a tourist destination. This Food Network star not only opened up a restaurant in town (learn more about Mercantile!) but has created a hotel with her husband, Ladd. The Boarding House is a boutique hotel with eight “cowboy luxury” suites and an in-dining menu that has us drooling at our seats.
What to Eat at Ree Drummond’s Hotel
After a quick glance at the menu, it’s pretty clear that some of the most popular dishes served at Drummond’s restaurant up the street have made their way onto the Boarding House menu—including her drool-worthy Pancake Breakfast. (Get our copycat recipe here.) At the Boarding House you can order room service for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and even a little happy hour or snack time. Grab a plate of Chips & Queso, or the Olive Cheese Bread, and order a bottle of wine to go with it. The hotel even offers numerous local draft beers for a mere $6, which will pair perfectly with those fun snack foods.
The Country Dinner Menu
More hearty meals on the menu include the Cowboy Steak Dinner and the Chicken Parmesan (which sound like the perfect meal for a night in). You can even pair it with delicious six sides like Mac & Cheese, Whiskey Carrots, or Twice Baked Potatoes. Finish off the night with dessert, which includes a delicious slice of chocolate cake.
Drummond Has Breakfast Down Pat
In the morning you can either wake up to fresh pastries and fruit or a scrumptious breakfast entrée. It would be hard to choose between Edna Mae’s Pancakes (three pancakes flavored separately flavored with aged vanilla & cinnamon, orange zest & clove, and sea salt caramel) or the Biscuits & Gravy served with Mercantile’s famous “Crispy Bits” breakfast potatoes. However, an order of her Spicy Cowgirl coffee is a no-brainer. It’s a cold brew coffee with chocolate, cayenne, and sweet vanilla cream over ice, which sounds like the perfect way to start your day in Pawhuska, Oklahoma. Cayenne in coffee? Here are 10 more things to add to your cup of joe.
Booking Your Trip
Now that I’ve officially made your mouth water all over your screen, I have to be the bearer of bad news: The Boarding House is completely booked. At the moment, there are no openings for a stay at this luxury hotel until January 2019. Even then, the rooms available are far and few. So if you want to take advantage of this divine room service menu, you are going to want to book ASAP.
Can’t swing a night at the Boarding House at the moment? Why not make a little food for some room service at home, like our Biscuits and Sausage Gravy, Crispy Potato Cubes, Chili Queso Dip, or Chicken Parmigiana.
