Think outside the packet! You can use those noodles to make ramen lasagna.

Let’s be honest for a second. While we all love the idea of collecting different cookbooks and trying a new recipe every night, it can be a daunting task. Save that short rib ragu for Sunday dinner. If you want to try something new on a weeknight, turn to viral TikTok recipes. One recipe people are obsessed with is ramen lasagna!

How to Make Ramen Lasagna

This delicious meal idea comes from TikTok user @ramenkingivan. If you couldn’t tell from his name, this creator takes ramen and transforms it into all kinds of fancy meals, including ramen lasagna.

We asked Lauren Habermehl, one of our recipe developers, to put this TikTok ramen lasagna to the test!

Ingredients

  • 2 packets ramen noodles, any flavor (discard the seasoning packet)
  • 2 cups pasta sauce
  • 1 cup sharp cheddar cheese, grated

Directions

Step 1: Build the ramen lasagna base

Place half of the dry noodles at the bottom of a small glass dish. On top of the ramen noodles, pour a generous amount of pasta sauce. Next, grate fresh cheddar cheese on top of the pasta sauce and cover it all with the remaining half of dry ramen noodles.

Here’s how to grate cheese so it doesn’t stick to your grater.

Step 2: Layer with more cheese and noodles

Repeat the process with another generous pool of pasta sauce and even more freshly grated cheese on top. I’m starting to like where this is going! But we’re not done yet.

Take a second packet of ramen, break the noodles in half one more time and place half on top of the cheese. As you may have guessed, follow with more pasta sauce and cheddar cheese. Then take the last half of the ramen noodles and crush it up so the crumbles fall like pieces of crunchy breading.

Step 3: Bake the ramen lasagna

Finish the dish with a bit more cheddar cheese and pop the whole thing in the oven at 350°F for 30 minutes. And when I say it comes out looking like a dream…I mean it. Buon appetite! Try TikTok Ramen, a dry take on the soupy noodle dish.

Does This TikTok Recipe Work?

“So cheesy, so delicious, so much potential,” Lauren says. “There’s no doubt that this ramen hack is tasty. However, it’s more of a cheesy noodle bake than lasagna since everything basically melts together in the oven and the layers don’t stay defined.”

She also found that the dish needed to bake for closer to 35-40 minutes to cook the noodles to al dente. She also felt that the dish could use a little more Italian flair to pass as a “lasagna.” Toss in some cooked Italian sausage, creamy ricotta or frozen spinach and swap the cheddar for melty mozzarella to take this dish to the next level. (And help it taste more like traditional lasagna.)

With that said, if you’re looking for an easy 3-ingredient dinner that’s both cheesy and saucy, Lauren says this is a great ramen recipe to try!
