I can’t resist a cozy movie night during winter. I flip on a heartwarming Hallmark Christmas movie, grab a fluffy blanket and hop on the internet to order Friday night takeout: pizza! Nothing feels better than snuggling up on the couch with some good friends and absolutely destroying a large Pepperoni Lover’s.

You know there are plenty of pizza chains to choose from. But we’re here to talk about America’s oldest pizza chain. You may have a nostalgic memory of Pizza Hut restaurants from when you were a kid, but it’s time for an update. That’s right, Pizza Hut is ready for a modern makeover and its first drive-thru.

How can Pizza Hut have a drive-thru?

A woman in a car receives a pizza box from someone outside. She is smiling and wearing a red shirt. The car window is open, and the interaction looks friendly and casual.COURTESY PIZZA HUT

It’s not your typical drive-thru. Officially deemed the “Hut ‘N Go,” Pizza Hut’s drive-thru offers ready-to-go items that can be immediately picked up at the next window. There will be some restrictions to what you can order, but does that make it any less amazing? Nope.

On top of the drive-thru, Pizza Hut is also revamping its usual red roof aesthetic. That means no more iconic hat-shaped roof, sadly. Like McDonald’s, the new Pizza Hut has self-serve kiosks inside the restaurant. The kitchen will even be open so customers can watch pizzas being made in real time. Now, we’re just waiting for them to start serving Pizza Hut tomato wine while we wait.

“This location goes beyond a restaurant redesign; it embodies Pizza Hut’s creativity and vision for the brand’s future,” said Kalen Thornton, Pizza Hut’s chief brand officer. “This opening showcases our ability to innovate and evolve, which has served our 65-year leadership in pizza culture.”

Where do I find it?

I know you’re giddy to jump in your car and go check out the Pizza Hut drive-thru ASAP. But this location only exists in Plano, Texas…for now. We’re hoping this design does well and appears at Hut locations across the nation. Ah, what I wouldn’t give to go to a Pizza Hut drive-thru in my lifetime!
