We Taste Tested All Three New Snickers Flavors. Here’s Why We’re Freaking Out

I love peanut butter, so I was ecstatic when I heard about the latest Snickers invention. Creamy Snickers not only has a Peanut Butter square, but they’re making Almond Butter and Maple Almond Butter as well.

Of course I had to give the bars a taste! I broke out a box of the latest flavors to share with my co-workers and we all put our taste buds to the test. Here’s what we thought.

1. Peanut Butter

It’s good. Really, really good. It might be one of my top favorite candy bars to date. But I’m probably a bit biased since peanut butter is considered one of my main food groups.

The salty-sweet combo of this bar actually reminded me of a Fast Break, which is my actual favorite candy bar. With it being so similar, the Peanut Butter Creamy Snickers might even edge out Fast Break. I wasn’t the only one who felt that way.

“I think it resonated with me because Peanut M&M’s are one of my favorite candies,” says Matt Anderson, one of our own here at Taste of Home.

“Peanut butter is classic, and to me, irreplaceable,” says Alyson Marks.

2. Almond Butter

Despite the satisfying salty-sweet taste from the Peanut Butter, I was shocked by how good the Almond Butter Creamy Snickers was. The almond butter wasn’t as overpowering in saltiness compared to the Peanut Butter, which was the reason why so many of my co-workers dubbed Almond Butter their favorite flavor.

“Almond butter is delicious, kind of like toffee without being too sticky,” says Claire Nowak.

Surprisingly, people said the Almond Butter was the closest in taste to a normal Snickers bar. It satisfied that classic Snickers craving for those who love the candy most. But for anyone looking for a completely new flavor, the last Creamy Snickers was best of all.

3. Maple Almond Butter

If you like maple-flavored things, you’re really going to love the Maple Almond Butter Creamy Snickers. It makes you want to have a huge plate of our buttermilk pancakes drowning in maple syrup. To be honest, the saltiness of the almond butter mixed with the sweet maple reminded me a lot of Maple-Bacon Doughnut Bites, which of course I want to now make immediately.

Some thought the maple flavor was a bit too sweet, but others thought the flavor was original compared to what they usually see in a candy bar.

“All of them were delicious, but Maple stuck out to me as being the most unique,” says Chantal Waldholz. “The flavor is not something you expect when you bite into a Snickers.”

Where can I snag them?

Creamy Snickers have been on shelves nationwide since January 2019! Pick one up at your local grocery store or Target to try the delicious, creamy goodness that is the new Creamy Snickers.
