The New Girl Scout Cookie Flavor Is Perfect for Caramel Lovers
Caramel meets chocolate chip in the new Girl Scout cookies.
You might say that the four seasons are spring, summer, autumn and winter. But for former Girl Scouts and people with a sweet tooth, there’s another, much more important season: Girl Scout cookie season! (Here’s the cookie people go crazy for.) Whether you’re nostalgic for the days spent with your Girl Scout troop or simply a longtime fan of Samoas, Girl Scout cookies have something for everyone.
This year’s new Girl Scout cookies are the perfect addition to the lineup!
Introducing the Caramel Chocolate Chip cookie
A visit to the official Girl Scouts website reveals the newest addition to the Girl Scout cookie roster: Caramel Chocolate Chip cookies. The Scouts say the new addition has “rich caramel, semisweet chocolate chips and a hint of sea salt in a chewy cookie.” The classic Samoas also feature gooey caramel and chocolate, but for anyone who doesn’t like coconut or wants something different, the new flavor is an exciting change!
In addition to the sweet caramel, there’s another reason to be excited about the Caramel Chocolate Chip cookies. Like the “Toffee-tastic” Girl Scout cookies, the new flavor will be gluten-free. Even if you have Celiac disease or a gluten intolerance, you’ll still be able to place a large order when Girl Scout cookie season rolls around.
Where to buy the new Girl Scout cookies
The new Girl Scout cookies will be available in 2019, so mark your calendars now. The only catch is that, according to the Girl Scouts website, the two gluten-free varieties will only be available in “select Girl Scout council markets.” So if you don’t see them for sale in your area, it might be time to hit up your friend’s cousin’s niece for an out-of-town cookie connection.
