Being at home during lockdown restored my love of baking. I’ve made lemon bread, apple pie, pumpkin bread and so many batches of brownies.
You know what I’m ready for now, though? Lots of chocolate chip cookies.
Once again, Nestle is here to answer my baking prayers. Hello, Chocolate Lava Cake and Dulce de Leche baking truffles!
What Are Baking Truffles?
It’s like a chocolate chip, but with a soft, creamy center. Just the sound of that makes your mouth start to water, doesn’t it?
If you’ve heard of these beauties already, it’s probably because of their first appearance last year. The original flavor, Sea Salt and Caramel Baking Truffles, did so well that there will be new flavors for 2022! How could you not totally fall in love with a baking companion like this? I might even have to use these in my chocolate chip pancakes.
The actual morsels look a lot like pieces of candy rather than chocolate chips. That doesn’t make them more difficult to bake with, but it does make them harder to resist while stirring the dough. I can’t promise there will be any left in the bag before I make my cookies.
There are two flavors expected to debut in June:
- Chocolate Lava Cake: a chocolate shell with a decadent chocolate-flavored center
- Chocolate Caramel Dulce de Leche: a chocolate shell filled with a creamy caramel flavored center
Both flavors sound so good! You can bet we’ll be keeping our best chocolate chip cookie recipes on deck.
Where to Find the Baking Truffles
The Lava Cake and Caramel Dulce de Leche baking truffles will be at grocery stores and retailers like Walmart nationwide. Both flavors debut this June and will absolutely be your new baking buddies.
