We'll see the cult-fave seasonal treat on menus soon.
The Shamrock Shake Is Coming Back to McDonald’s—Here’s When
Even though Punxsutawney Phil said that we’re going to have six more weeks of winter, I look around at the melting snow and think differently. There are many things that indicate spring is on its way. Maybe it’s the sighting of robins outside your window or the whispers about this upcoming baseball season.
But above all else, I measure the arrival of spring with one key moment: the date that the Shamrock Shake returns to the McDonald’s menu. The date changes every year, but it tells me that winter is on its way out. And McDonald’s just revealed when the seasonal treat will be back for 2026.
When will the Shamrock Shake be back?
This year, fans can get a hold of the minty green shake on February 17. This also happens to be Mardi Gras, so it’s one of the most celebratory Tuesdays that we’ll have all year long.
The Shamrock Shake has achieved cult status for being one of the most limited-run seasonal menu items at McDonald’s. But the Shamrock Shake isn’t the only minty treat returning to McDonald’s this year. The chain is also bringing back the Oreo Shamrock McFlurry. This is a newer spin on the classic treat—fans have been obsessed since it debuted in 2020 to mark the 50th anniversary of the Shamrock Shake.
How long will the Shamrock Shake be available?
All good things must come to an end. While there is no specific end date for when you can get your last Shamrock Shake, it’s a limited-time item available while supplies last. Some McDonald’s locations may sell out sooner than others. So, if this is your favorite way to celebrate the arrival of spring, I wouldn’t wait around until after St. Patrick’s Day.
