Mary Berry may be best known for her stint on the BBC’s beloved The Great British Bake Off, on which she judged the skills of passionate bakers who longed to be crowned the “UK’s Best Amateur Baker.” (Try your hand at these Great British Baking Show copycat recipes.) Mary has actually been teaching cooking on TV since the 1970s, and given her certification from Le Cordon Bleu cooking school in Paris, it’s safe to say this prim-and-proper yet iconically-styled kitchen connoisseur knows a thing or two-thousand about classic cooking. So, it stands to reason that her latest television show is called Classic Mary Berry.

About the New Show

The format of the show consists of Berry visiting her foodie guests to get the inside scoop on how they make their favorite comfort foods and then returning to recreate the magic in her own HUGE and inviting kitchen (she recently announced that she got rid of her dining room to make her kitchen bigger and better since, as she says, “Most of us, I think, live in the kitchen.”).

In the first episode, she embraces the British countryside with farm-to-table cooking, tackling roasted vegetables, a classic herb sauce as a perfect partner to asparagus, and her own version of tarte tatin. Other episodes will include voyages to find the perfect recipe for a rack of lamb and lemon meringue pie.

More Mary Berry

Mary is known by many as “Britain’s most trusted cook,” with her knack for no-nonsense tips and techniques that lead to delicious, foolproof results. Her recipes are simple, dependable, and essential, making them instant classics for every budget and level of cooking experience, and Classic Mary Berry celebrates everything that makes Mary Berry such a brilliant cook, teacher and inspiration, according to BBC One, the network which produces it.
