Choosing the perfect throw blanket sounds simple until you’re actually trying to pick one. Even after you’ve settled on a brand and style, the finer details can get unexpectedly tricky. And if you’ve landed on the editor-loved Lola Blankets, the decision doesn’t necessarily get easier.
After you’ve fallen for a color (or three), the real challenge begins: figuring out which size is actually right for you. Do you want something just for you, or a blanket that everyone fights over on the couch? Something decorative or fully cocoon-worthy?
This guide breaks down Lola Blanket sizes, how they feel in real life, and which one makes the most sense for your lifestyle.
What are Lola Blankets?

The Original Lola Blanket feels less like your average throw and more like something you accidentally get emotionally attached to. At least, that’s been my toddler’s experience.
Lola Blankets are ultra-soft, stretchy faux fur blankets that come in four sizes. The colors and patterns range from muted pastels to bold animal prints and modern checks. There’s truly an option for every vibe and every space.
What really sets them apart is the construction. Each blanket is double-sided, with plush faux fur on both sides, so there’s no “bad” side. The elastic banding creates a subtle textured look while keeping the blanket flexible enough to drape over your shoulders or fully cover yourself without feeling stiff. It’s finished with a durable double hem and made from vegan, cruelty-free polyester. Each one is also hand-dyed, which gives it a slightly unique feel.
We’ve tried a handful of high-end faux fur blankets, and this one stands out. It has that rare balance of looking styled while still feeling effortless. You can toss it over a couch or at the end of a bed to instantly make the room feel more put-together. Or, wrap it around your shoulders and settle in for hours.
And the softness? Next level. Think velveteen-bunny soft. My toddler’s Lola has earned the nickname “the bunny blanket,” and it goes everywhere with us. When extended family visited and first tried the XL version, everyone snuggled up, wide-eyed, asking where it came from.
It’s not just a blanket in our house; it’s the first thing everyone reaches for on movie nights. It’s the textile that always stays on the couch and somehow becomes part of every cozy moment.
Choosing the Right Size

The baby Lola blanket lives up to its name. It’s just right for babies, toddlers and even a very spoiled small pet. On the other end of the spectrum, the XL is one of the biggest blankets I own and easily the pick if you’re sharing, stretching out or firmly in the “bigger is better” camp.
Where things get a little fuzzy—pun fully intended—is in the middle. Choosing between the medium and large can be surprisingly tricky. Below are a few size recommendations to help you land on the right fit.
Medium Lola Blanket
Medium Malibu Blue Lola Blanket
If you’re unsure about size, I’d start with the medium blanket. It’s a classic throw at 50×60 inches and weighs just six pounds. It’s perfect for draping over the back of a couch or tucking at the end of a twin or full bed.
It’s a great gift for kids and teens since it’s easy to carry and pack. And it shouldn’t overwhelm your washer or dryer, making cleaning simple. We’re especially fond of the Malibu Blue print, with its playful tie-dye Easter egg vibe.
Large Lola Blanket
Large Rainy Day Lola Blanket
At 60×72 inches and eight pounds, this one lands right in that midsize sweet spot. It’s slightly smaller than a queen-size blanket but noticeably bigger than your average throw.
The large blanket comfortably fits two people (looking at you, couples) without the extra bulk of the XL, making it a great in-between option. If you want something to drape at the end of your bed or share without feeling overwhelmed by fabric, this size hits the mark. The Rainy Day colorway also happens to be the perfect neutral.
XL Lola Blanket
XL Caramel N’ Cream Lola Blanket
The Caramel N’ Cream XL blanket was my gateway Lola, and the one that completely hooked me. At 80×90 inches and a hefty 10 pounds, this thing is seriously substantial. It’s made for sharing, stretching out and those cozy nights when the whole family ends up piled together, whether that’s on the couch or an air mattress on the floor for a home movie night.
If you’re the type who never wants to fight over blanket real estate, this is your size. It’s big, it’s cozy, and it fully leans into the “more is more” philosophy. Curious if it’s too big? Take a look at the full review of this oversized favorite.
Baby Lola Blanket
Baby Greenhouse Lola Blanket
Baby showers, first birthdays, and everything in between—the baby blanket is another totally giftable option. It’s made for little ones, especially when they’re on the go. It’s perfect for stroller rides, and I wish I had one when my toddler was an infant. It would have made cold-weather errands cozier. It’s 30×36 inches and weighs just two pounds.
The Greenhouse color is from Lola’s brand-new Spring ’26 collection, a great choice for a baby. It’s soft, calming and versatile without being overly plain.
How to Care for Your Lola Blanket

Lola Blankets recommends washing all blankets alone in cold water with regular liquid detergent. Avoid fabric softener or detergent pods, as these can compromise the texture of the faux fur. After washing, the brand suggests hanging your blanket to dry. You can also briefly tumble dry on a no-heat “air” setting to restore fluffiness.
Even though I’d read multiple reviews saying washing Lola Blankets is easy, I was still a little nervous for the first wash. The XL is too big for my washing machine, so I stick to spot-cleaning with mild soap and water when needed, then let it air dry. So far, this has worked well, though I’m not entirely sure what I’d do in the event of a major spill.
I have washed smaller sizes, like the baby blanket, and noticed the texture changed slightly. Part of that might have been my own mistakes. I washed in cold water with mild detergent, which went fine, but drying was more of a challenge. Lola Blankets are on the heavier side, so they take a while to dry. I started with an air cycle, then switched to very low heat to speed things up.
From experience, here’s what I’d recommend: hang the blanket to dry if possible. Once it’s mostly dry, toss it in the dryer on an air-only cycle (absolutely no heat) to fluff it back up. I also plan to use a clean pet comb or similar fine-toothed brush on the blanket I dried on low heat, which I think will help restore its original plush look.
