There is perhaps no collective force more unstoppable than dedicated fast-food fans. I mean, McDonald’s just brought its Big Arch Burger to the United States for the first time after fans had been demanding it for years.

At KFC, fans were so distraught by the removal of the potato wedges from the menu in 2020 that one of them actually started a Change.org petition to bring them back. While there is no way to know if the 8,303 signatures on that petition were the reason for return of the wedges, they certainly were persuasive.

And now, KFC fans can finally grab a hold of one of the chain’s most popular handheld menu items again: the KFC Twister.

What is the KFC Twister?

I probably eat a wrap for lunch at least twice a week, so I’m very excited for this update to the KFC menu. This new version of the KFC Twister includes not one but two of the Original Recipe chicken tenders. Using two tenders makes this a wrap that eats like a meal, not a snack. They’re available two ways:

  • Twister Classic: Comes with lettuce, tomato and pepper mayonnaise
  • Twister Bacon: Comes with lettuce, tomato, pepper mayonnaise and hickory-smoked bacon

And if you like things spicy, you can add the Zinger Sauce to either Twister for a kick of heat. The Twister is available on its own or as a Twister box with a drink and choice of side—I’ll be getting it with the potato wedges.

When is the KFC Twister available?

The Twisters are available now at participating KFC locations nationwide. Sadly, they are only returning for a limited time, so if you want to get your wrap fix, I’d head to your local KFC as soon as possible. And while you’re there, you can also check out another new menu option, aka the “Build a Bucket.”

In addition to the Twister, KFC is also dropping a brand-new “Build a Bucket” meal option. For just $20, you can get:

  • Your choice of eight pieces of chicken or eight chicken tenders
  • Your choice of four side dishes
  • Four biscuits
  • Four sauces (if you choose the chicken tender option)

And, yes, your four side dishes can all be potato wedges! Listen, they’re my favorite fast-food potato option, so I’m still excited about them being back. Regardless of what side dishes you choose, the $20 Build a Bucket meal deal is definitely going to be my go-to easy dinner. Especially when I don’t have time or energy to cook! Which is happening pretty frequently these days, so thank you, KFC.
