Those seeking a meaty snack can never go wrong with beef jerky. In fact, this travel-friendly trail favorite is so popular that there are now countless brands and blends that go well beyond the basic teriyaki beef you’d find at your local store. For those seeking a departure from these ho-hum offerings, it can be tough to find under-the-radar brands and flavors that are actually worth buying. That’s where jerky subscription boxes come in handy.
“Jerky clubs are great for meat lovers, snack enthusiasts and those who enjoy trying new flavors,” notes jerky expert Kate, who acts as Sales & Service Coordinator for Jerky.com. “They appeal to individuals looking for convenient, high-protein snacks or those who appreciate gourmet and artisanal food products.” She says that subscribing to a jerky club offers several benefits, including:
- Discovering unique flavors and brands
- Offering convenience with automatic monthly shipments
- Scoring discounts during special drops
With this in mind, we tried out a month of the incredibly popular Jerky Dynasty jerky subscription box to see how it stacked up to our expectations. Spoiler: It may be the best savory food subscription box we’ve ever tested!
Jerky Dynasty Club Box
This meaty subscription box is a great gift for jerky fans and uncured snackers alike.
What is Jerky Dynasty Club?
Jerky Dynasty is one of the leading jerky retailers online. Born of the desire to make gourmet jerky more approachable to snackers, the retailer offers exotic and gourmet options that appeal to almost any meat lover. That said, the Jerky Dynasty jerky subscription box is perhaps one of their most popular options, especially for gifting.
The regular subscription box comes with up to 24 ounces of premium jerky, hailing from several different gourmet jerky brands. Selections span spicy, savory and sweet flavors, plus several different meats and textures. There’s also a Lite Box with up to 12 ounces for those who crave a smaller sampling of options.
How We Tested
To test this beefy box for ourselves, we enlisted the help of tester and resident jerky fan Paul Rankin, who tried the Jerky Dynasty regular-sized jerky club. From the moment Paul received the box, he was impressed, noting that the gift-ready, branded box reminded him of a fancy pizza box. But the real test is what’s inside—and that also didn’t disappoint.
“I loved how much variety there was in the box, definitely plenty of jerky to get me through an entire month (or more),” says Paul.

Paul’s box contained three big bags of jerky and some smaller meat sticks. While the contents were mostly beef and pork jerky, there were also some exotic flavors like venison, elk and duck. In total, he received bags of Carnivore Candy Peppered Brisket jerky, Ayoba-yo Droëwors beef sticks, Smoking Gun Wicked Mary jerky and Hunters Reserve Roadkill summer sausage. He also enjoyed an Indian Valley Venison Pepper jerky stick and a Dill Pickle jerky stick.
When it comes to the price, you’re getting a great value with this subscription. Even though one of the flavors wasn’t Paul’s favorite, the box still provided more than enough jerky to last him through the month. He even hosted a jerky tasting with friends and had lots left over after everyone had their fill.

“The flavors were intense and interesting. Considering how much a regular bag of jerky is at the grocery store, this subscription box is a great deal,” notes Paul. “A regular bag of jerky is around $12 at my grocery store (for under 3 ounces), and this box gives you 16-24 ounces, so your dollar is really stretching far here.”
He notes that this would be an especially good gift for someone who spends a lot of time outdoors or gym-goers who are invariably on the constant hunt for protein. That said, any meat lover will appreciate the selection and care that goes into each month’s shipment.

- Large selection of jerky in every box
- Flexible subscription options
- Good price for the amount of jerky you get

Jerky Dynasty Club vs. Amazing Clubs Jerky Subscription
While we love Jerky Dynasty’s jerky subscription box, it’s far from the only option. We compared specs with several different jerky clubs to see how it stacked up. Overall, we found it most comparable to the Amazing Clubs jerky subscription, which also offers a wide assortment of quality finds at a reasonable price point.
Here are some comparisons between the two clubs:
- Size: The regular-sized Jerky Dynasty Club Box contains 16-24 ounces of jerky per month, while the Amazing Clubs jerky subscription contains three bags ranging from 3-4 ounces each. This equals out to a maximum of 12 ounces of jerky. The Amazing Clubs box is most comparable in size to the smaller Jerky Dynasty Lite box, which offers 8-12 ounces of jerky total.
- Price: Jerky Dynasty’s subscription comes in two sizes: a 16-24 ounce size that retails for $49.99 per month, and a smaller 8-12 ounce size that retails for $39.99 per month. The Amazing Clubs jerky subscription costs $39.95 per month and includes 9-12 ounces of jerky.
- Value: At around $2-3 per ounce, the regular Jerky Dynasty Club membership is a better overall value than the Amazing Clubs version, which costs $3-4 per ounce. Both offer a better value than buying multiple bags at a supermarket.
- Quality: Both clubs offer a variety of rotating gourmet beef jerky brands. While the Jerky Dynasty subscription typically offers more variety per box, both subscription options are high-quality.
- Shipping: Both clubs offer free shipping in the continental U.S.
- Mission: Jerky Dynasty donates a portion of each subscription purchase to front-line workers, including nurses, doctors, firefighters, teachers and police.
Final Verdict
According to Kate, those seeking quality beef jerky should look for a rich flavor, a chewy texture that’s not overly tough and minimal preservatives. She also says to look for jerky made with high-quality cuts of meat, natural ingredients and clear labeling about sourcing and production methods.
The jerky subscription box from Jerky Dynasty checked all these boxes and more, making it an excellent gift to your favorite outdoorsman (or yourself—we don’t judge). Our favorite aspect of this jerky club is that subscribers don’t simply get a great deal on gourmet jerky. They also get the opportunity to try something a little more adventurous to expand their culinary horizons.
