Martha Stewart is the original lifestyle influencer. Long before Joanna Gaines started designing with shiplap, Martha built an empire around her books, recipes and, of course, Martha Stewart Living. Her crafty ideas for everything, from making fluffy pancakes to raising peacocks, have earned her icon status.

In fact, Martha is such an icon that even famous people use her recipes. In this case, it’s Jennifer Garner, who says, “whatever you do, this recipe is a sure thing!”

What is Jennifer Garner’s favorite Martha Stewart recipe?

It’s this Roast Lemon Chicken Soup, which she first shared on Facebook in 2018. Jennifer loves to cook for her social media followers and has made recipes from several cooking pros, including Ina Garten. This recipe was the first of Martha’s to make an appearance, and Jennifer is making it on repeat!

The soup is incredibly straightforward. In fact, it only contains seven ingredients: lemon, shallots, a whole chicken, chicken stock, olive oil, salt and pepper. I can see why Jennifer is a fan. There’s nothing quite as tasty as a freshly roasted chicken!

What else does Jennifer cook?

She makes all kinds of things for a social media series she jokingly calls “Pretend Cooking Show.” Who could forget her infamous cinnamon bread men from 2019? Her recipe for skillet cornbread went viral, too. Most recently, Jennifer made her Aunt Janet’s farm biscuits.

Part of what I think is so fun about watching Jennifer cook is that it feels relatable—or at least as relatable as a celebrity can be. Sometimes, she starts cooking while her hair is still drying after a shower, which, same. I love that she posts her wins and her failures, like this bagel disaster. But no matter what, she is genuinely having a good time. And that’s what cooking is all about!
