When I say It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown has been one of my all-time favorite Halloween specials since the day I came into this world, I am not exaggerating. My old recorded VHS will stay with me until my last days. I even went out to buy Snoopy-themed Halloween decorations!
A couple years ago, we were devastated to hear that It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown was only going to be shown on Apple TV+ instead of being broadcast on ABC. It shook a lot of people up. Here’s how things stand for Halloween 2022.
Great Pumpkin, Where Are You?
It may seem a bit silly, but watching Great Pumpkin is tradition for quite a few people. I know some people prefer Christmas Peanuts, but you can’t deny that we all have a beloved Peanuts movie. And not being able to watch our favorite Peanuts special changes the entire holiday!
Last year, It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown! was shown on PBS so we could enjoy it for Halloween 2021. Unfortunately, PBS hasn’t told us whether they’ll be repeating that in 2022, so for now, here’s how to watch the Halloween classic for free.
For one, the special is available on Apple TV+, but if you don’t have a subscription, never fear! You can sign up for the 7-day free trial to watch it. Just time it to make sure you can watch on Halloween. However, that’s not the only option—you can also hop over to Best Buy and grab a 90-day free trial! If you have any little ghouls or goblins around, they’re sure to be thrilled about this.
When Can I Watch It?
With Apple TV+, you can watch It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown anytime. However, we’re keeping an eye out to see if it makes its way back to PBS or another channel for Halloween, so look out for updates.
Bake up this great pumpkin cake, gather the fam around for a Peanuts watch party and enjoy to your heart’s content! And if you’re already prepping for the next holiday, here’s how to set up a Peanuts-themed Christmas party.
