These International Mcdonald’s Items Have Officially Made It to America
McDonald's is finally expanding its international menu launches to all locations nationwide.
After internal documents from Business Insider leaked McDonald’s plans of expanding global menu items to the states back in June, we’re finally seeing the effect of the changes. The rumors have officially been confirmed, and you’ll be finding new arrivals on your Mickey D’s menu as early as June 5—at participating U.S. locations, of course.
Americans don’t have to envy those Australian Cheesy Bacon Fries anymore because this item, along with and Canada’s Tomato Mozzarella Chicken Sandwich and Spain’s Grand McExtreme Bacon Burger, will be on trays in no time. We’re most excited for Netherlands’ Stroopwafel McFlurry, which will include caramel swirl woven among creamy soft-serve and topped with caramel waffle cookie pieces.
The Cheddar Cheese Fries feature silky cheddar sauce topped with savory Applewood smoked bacon. Canada’s Tomato Mozzarella Chicken Sandwich comes dressed in tomato and herb sauce, mozzarella cheese, onions, lettuce, Roma tomatoes and white meat chicken prepared grilled or crispy, all on a toasted artisan roll. Spain’s Grand McExtreme Bacon Burger comes with all the fixings like Applewood smoked bacon, gouda cheese, onions and McBacon sauce, which provides that unbeatable smoky flavor. This burger is sandwiched amid a toasted sesame seed bun.
The Stroopwafel McFlurry will be sold in a mini, 8-oz. snack size, at $2.19, and a regular 12-oz. size at $2.89. Cheesy Bacon Fries will only set you back $3.19, and the new Tomato Mozzarella Chicken Sandwich will cost you $5.59. The Grand McExtreme Bacon Burger comes in two variations, single patty for $5.59 and double for $6.89.
A lot of these items make sense given the recent history of McDonald’s global items in the US. Cheesy Bacon Fries have already been a national limited-time item, and the Stroopwafel McFlurry and Grand McExtreme Bacon Burger were tested in Miami last year. It looks like that test was successful enough that McDonald’s is giving the international menu a full-scale launch.
While McDonald’s has outright confirmed the menu change, even if they were reluctant to admit it upon the initial leak. Even though the beans were spilled a little earlier than expected, we’re still looking forward to this change. The only question is what to try first?!
