Hostess’ New Key Lime CupCakes Are the Perfect Summer Treat

These limited-edition Hostess cupcakes taste like summer!

If there’s one thing that reminds us of summer, it’s lime. We were pretty excited to see Lime Skittles in the works, but we’re even more excited to see the tart flavors of key lime popping up all over the place. We’ve already got Key Lime Kit Kats, and now, we have a new key lime-flavored treat from Hostess, and they sound insanely delicious.

These CupCakes are Tart, Tangy and Totally Delicious

Hostess has a new spin on this classic flavor. These limited-edition cupcakes are made with a combination of golden cake with sweet, slightly tart creme filling and topped with key-lime green colored icing with the iconic squiggle icing design on the top. Did you know this is what makes Key limes different from regular limes?

Key Lime is only one of the limited-edition flavors from Hostess. This summer, they’re also dropping Sundae CupCakes, made with chocolate cake, a creme filling, ice-cream flavored icing, rainbow sprinkles and a “hot fudge” squiggle.

But that’s not all! For a limited time, S’mores CupCakes are also coming back. The cupcake inspired by the iconic campfire activity was first launched last summer. It features graham cracker-flavored yellow cake and a toasted marshmallow flavored filling, topped with chocolate icing and a white squiggle icing design.

Where Can I Get ‘Em?

Hostess Key Lime CupCakes and Sundae CupCakes are available at Meijer for $3.50, and they’ve also been spotted at Walmart and Woodman’s, according to Instagram user @candyhunting. Each box includes eight individually wrapped cakes, which doesn’t sound like nearly enough for these limited-edition flavors. Pick up a few boxes when you can because these won’t be around for long!
